Hello,

I have to post this here as I can't post anywhere else.

I have just bought a 7970 to replace my 5830.

I use cgminer --scrypt for Litecoin mining and it reports that I am getting 600kHashes/s and yet I am only getting one accept every 2 minutes.

My old 5830 was getting 8 accepts per minute.

I am using a PCI-e 3.0 motherboard.

Any ideas what is wrong?

ADDENDUM

Okay, the card can only take an intensity of 13 whereas the 5830 did best at 20.

I am getting about 12.5 accepts per minute compared to the 5830's 8.4

ADDENDUM 2

Okay, 14.5 / minute with -g 2

50% improvement but £200 more to buy. What a waste of money!!!

200 for a card which mines faster? you'll have made your money back in a couple months, at this rate!

Yes, now that things have settled down I now have the 5830 and 7970 running on two motherboards and producing almost 3X the LTC as before.

I shouldn't grumble with the current price of LTC.

Okay, head down and mint!

I can't get these to play together. It seems to be the 5830. When I start cgminer it compiles a bin for the Tahiti but crashes trying to compile the 5830. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong? Any chance someone has a working conf file? TIA
