What is the most energy efficient GPU card available versus hashing capacity ?

Is a whole heap of 280x GPU's still relevant in todays mining game ? Because I have a dickload of them available in each of my Gaming Den Battle Stations.

Would it be viable to setup a GPU Farm with them and mine some GPU only Cryptocoins ?

I know new coins when released give the most profit due to low-increasing difficulty so even if I mine with the setup for short periods of time for Max Profit I can see that working for me.

The new ones are pretty energy efficient but every Lenny & Carl have them.

I guess I will take that chance with power usage and rig 5 of the systems up, I see the most profitable coins to mine at the moment with daily average difficulty fluctuations is ETH/ETC/Decred/ZCASH.

So 5 rigs with 4x 280x cards in each one would equate to 20x 280x GPU's

I've done an estimation by using some calculators and rough hashrate estimation for ZCASH mining is 4300 sol/s with all 5 rigs going, sounds pretty good doesn't it ? To me it does.

If your electric cost is low enough. R9 280x can be quite profitable since you already HAVE them.

At the moment, again depending on electric cost, ETH/ETC and ZCash are the most profitable but that will bounce frequently as some folks bounce between those 3 when one gets more profitable.

Ignore Decred unless you are going to use Claymore's dual miner, it's NOT particularly profitable if at all on it's own.

Keep in mind you need to figure the electric usage of the ENTIRE RIG, not just the GPU(s), when figuring profitability.

Not for the 280x, the sweet spot there is the GTX 750 Ti - and THAT card isn't very profitable.

for zcash currently nvidia is a bit better, don't listen to random peopel that tell you the 470 is cheaper and bullshit like that, you need two 470 to match a 1070 in sol and efficiency, so roi must be done on two 470 and not one

the 1070 is the king of zcash currently, with 333 sol 100watt
