Totally safe, even if you are using the electrum for your desktop wallet and I can say it has become such best combination for storing your money. You can sync your trezor with electrum for automatically. I think the hardware wallet still be the best choice for store your money in this time. or may you make your homemade hardware wallet?

If you can spend few hundred dollar for hardware wallet like trezor than yes it is safe cold storage method. But if you can't pay for hardware wallets, i think paper wallet can also work as cold storage and if you can keep it safe and out of internet it can provide same level of protection like hardware wallets. Edit: Typos

I think there is only one cold storage kind on storing your BTC and that is TREZOR and in my opinion it is really safe even if I am not using it I am pretty sure that it is highly safe in terms of security it maintain a substantial stash of coins, but do not want to rely on third-party bitcoin storage services or impractical forms of cold storage. And there are Failsafes features you are dealing with a secure device it has a Keylogger protection and even if an attacker using a simple keylogger, or even an attacker with complete remote access to the desktop, would not be able to determine the numbers, as they are displayed only on the Trezor device.

WTF? This is completely wrong. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Cold_storagehttps://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/How_to_set_up_a_secure_offline_savings_wallethttps://www.weusecoins.com/bitcoin-cold-storage-guide/OP, don't let sig spammers influence your opinion, they mostly have no clue what they are talking about and the most possible reason why they are posting here, is to raise in rank for more money. In reality there are a lot of different cold storage methods (you can even carve your private key in a stone if you like). Some are more secure than others and some can even be pretty insecure, like a Brainwallet. You can choose the one that fits your needs.

Hardware wallets like trezor are safer way to hold bitcoin but there are many alternatives to trezor and are also cheaper. You can check this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1710607.0 , there are other few alternatives listed and may be OP will add more in future.

Yes it is safe. But I no longer use it since I think its does not come cheap. I have searched for other cold wallet but I cannot find one so I just transferred my bitcoins to blockchain.info since their wallet address constantly changes in every transaction and for me that adds more security to my bitcoins. Online wallets are also good since bitcoins price is constantly going up.

A hardware wallet like TERZOR is good option for cold storage if you are willing to spend few dollars on it, this is profitable only if you are storing alot of bitcoin. TBH there are a lot of ways secure cold storage ways, a paper wallet is also good.

if you are looking for a decent level of security then choose one of the links above to cold storage such as hardware wallet or paper but if you are paranoid that some people may be, you can make the private keys manually (by hand or in other words with pen and paper) for that you need a 16 sided dice to roll and get a 100% offline no computer generated random number! and pen and paper to write it down and convert it to a private key

Well, I like paper wallets generated on a "offline" computer the most. I have bought a second hand computer & printer.. just for the generation of paper wallets. { very inexpensive } This computer will never be connected to the internet again. You can also opt for a KeepKey wallet, it is just as good as a Trezor, IF you want to use a hardware wallet.

For cold storage I'm using Cold Wallets. They're printed paper which you can laminate at your own home (look that up on YouTube, it's under $2 for hundreds of wallets), and if you want to use them you can just take a paper and empty it. It's the safest one to use in my opinion especially because you cannot get your money stolen, or it's hard to do that.

Paper wallets are simply the cheapest and most secure option out there. The only thing you must be aware of is that after importing the private key again into Bitcoin Core and sending a transaction, the amount leftover will be stored at a new address - so don't delete your wallet.dat afterwards! For printing paper wallets the best printer is possibly a needle printer, because there's no ink decay if you store it for a decade or so. Laser printers are also acceptable if you laminate the printout. You should avoid ink jet prints, because they tend not to be long-lasting (especially when exposed to UV or chemicals).

If masterdom is a relative newcomer to Bitcoin AND he has the money, yes, I would go for the TREZOR as the best of the devices I have used and looked at.
Paper wallets do not look easy nor convenient.
I would like to see a SIMPLE and minimalist design that basically just accepts, stores and sends BTC with no frills. Built solid & cheap.

Oh sorry about that AGD, the cold storage that I have known is Trezor, other than paper wallets and physical bitcoin I have only had experience with hardware wallets and have only use online bitcoin storage, I may not have any knowledge about other stuff when it comes to bitcoin like you do, but thanks for showing the link about other cold storage I have learn a lot because of that and because here in our country other bitcoin storage are not popular or maybe no one really is using it here.

Yup, you're absolutely right. Bitcoin wallet, because all have a good level of security, because if they are not able to use the security system is good then it's all just be bad for them because all users will stop using it and make it something a bad thing for the continuation of the wallet. And for now this blockchain is a wallet that became a mainstay and became the first reference for all those who want to use it
