Some bought at $0.09  3 weeks ago.

I think drastic fall of STEEM price has finally stopped. and 2017 will most likely be quite stable for STEEM.  If they will ofcourse spread and gain new users as they do so far.

I'm not surprized. The coin in question is dropping steadily since July and if I was a holder of this coins I would sell everything right now because I'm sure the price will continue to drop. I'm wondering how did they manage to pump the price to almost 0.006 in July. I think the developers made some good money from that.

The developers made a good run for their money as always and the bad holders will be holding the coin dreaming that it would rise again. As long as the price of bitcoin increases the price difference will be evident for all the ALT coins and so is the case here.

I think the the future of steem will largely depend on growth of its userbase. If it is regularly getting more eyeballs on its content, then the value should increase. The community seems committed to trying new and crazy ideas to get new users and keep them engaged.

The ideology Steem is based on is very funny - get aid for great content(whatever that is).
I am not surprised it's dumping, it was meant to be.

that is true about all other projects too. when they attract more people it means more investors and less dumpers. but people are not going to be attracted to random projects just because they advertise, they have to have some real attraction that does it on its own.
take bitcoin for example, people will always invest in it because of the profit and the future. and also because it has some real world application as a currency which attracts users.
but what does steem offer?

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Well there is the initial hype(always), people coming in saying how good steemit is, especially when steemit itself is a platform where you can make posts and earn money from making these posts, when people upvote you, making more and more hype up.

And then there is one point where people finally realise that it is just a bubble. Everyone dumps, price goes from 0.005 to 0.0001, bounces around sideways 0.0001-0.0003 region.

Funny it seems that steem price is keep falling and falling on the road, no one has good hope about steem because past 2 month steem is keep killing it price to lower and lower many people who hold steem coin are keep dumping the coin, because of their huge loss in the coin.

Every one his own speculation regarding steem because many user base have think that steem on of the best platform where people make some profits through steem, in starting it anonymous results to people who trust the steem but now it keep destroying their faith let's hope good thing happen in the year 2017.

A friend of mine asked me to steem about two months ago. Probably glad I didn't or the heartache would be bad. However, I may just give it a serious go now that it is so low... friend says he can still earn about 5 to 7 dollars just for content a day.

Yes. But they are not doing anything to foment the growth of Steem outside the crypto-currency enthusiast world.
If they don't create a decentralized environment for content creators which does not force them to leave their own blogs (e.g. creating a "steemit button" for CMS' like Wordpress or Drupal) then I think they will go further down. The concept is not bad, but it lacks a long term strategy.

How long it will depend on user base, User base already involved in making steem big crypto but due to bitcoin price are may be people don't have any trust on steem, may be it has low user base at present.
Steem is not actually working the way it should, because in beginning of steem many people have strong belief on steem that steem would be one of the best crypto after bitcoin, but today nobody has belief on it very soon it will be like doge, But doge is better than steem, it is really securing it's value always.

i agree it lacks long term strategy, but thats what happens to all "money first, work after"  ICO projects.  when i think of steem i think : ok so its LBRY but they had a scammy ICO that has dropped price from day one (LBRY had no ICO so its free market/miner price drop)
and its a circle jerk around some dude named ned whos  now rich as fuk ? o and it takes YEARS to cash out or some shit?  what dumass would buy INTO this ICO?
ill stick at LBRY thx, they reward ME as a creator, with NO cut to them, and was NO ICO. steem... lmao... what a joke, you guys kinda deserve it on that one imo
