I often find myself thinking of ways to explain just why bitcoin is so amazing, and I thought of something earlier that a lot of us probably know, but maybe have not thought to put into words. One of the reasons the coin is so good for society is because it advances every aspect of what humans do - science, entertainment, archaeology... whatever. Now, all these fields have been constantly advancing and improving for as long as they have existed, but what bitcoin changes is, the RATE of advancement. So if you thought technology was advancing fast the last 30 years, well.. "you ain't seen nothin' yet!"

Yup. It is going to be the perfect currency for open source/indie projects which now have trouble being taken serious by banks and payment providers.
