My question is, is it profitable enough right now to invest the money into a rig to mine Litecoins? I would be building a rig using three of the Saphire GPU's in the link below. The profitability chart shown at the bottom of this rig on ebay makes it look pretty good, but is that actually realistic right now?

Is this GPU a good choice for Litecoins? If not, can you suggest a better one for around the same price?

Thanks in advance for your input!!

Every time I answer "no, the initial cost means it will take too long to make your investment back with the difficulty skyrocketing" to a question like this, 5 replies pop up calling me an idiot.  My thing is, I don't know that too many people could have anticipated the way BTC or LTC took off over the last 3 weeks.  Now my answer is - I don't know if you'll make your money back but it's been all unicorns so far.

Thank you for the reply! The money being spent would be all from profits on a Litecoin investment, so I really wouldn't be out anything in a sense since LTC's are in fact paying for it right from the get go.Smiley Can you recommend a decent GPU, or is the one I have chosen a good choice?

Thanks!

that's a nice case with big fans and 3 7950 , a bit expensive but not by too much.  Grin

the problem is the 11 days delai (5 to make and 6 shipping) what will be the price in 11 days ? Try to have the same kit built locally or order from newegg. Cool

The ebay link was just to show the profitability chart he has on the bottom of the page, and to see if that was really realistic. I am actually doing just what you suggested. All of the parts are in my Newegg shopping cart, I was just waiting to see what you guys had to say first. I'd mainly like to know if the GPU I had picked is the right one, or if I should go a different route.

Thanks!

I would consider buying LTC now instead of mining.
