Localbitcoins is always above the exchanges with price and it's logical. It requires people to meet in person and that takes more effort than a couple clicks and much more time.

If you want to know "standard" bitcoin price. Then you can't use:

1. Local exchanges - they sell more expensive BTC (due to limited volume and increased demand)  - just look at Indian and African exchanges.
2. P2P trading platforms - there is additional 'fee' when you want to buy bitcoin in a more anonymous fashion.
3. This tool is probably the best service where you can quickly estimate average price of BTC - http://preev.com/btc/usd

They average the prices at virtually all the exchanges, weighted by volume, excluding the volumes at zero-fee exchanges. They're also used as the base price by most BTC ATMs here in Toronto.

Bears are aggressively fighting with bulls, and the demand for bitcoins, which had been overwhelming the supply recently, looks like being balanced finally at sub-$800 levels. People are obviously now fixing profits. If the number of bears runs dry faster than the number of bulls we will break through the resistance at $800. Else we could crash down to $750 with a quick selloff commencing.

Nice illustration here mate which is really true.If the demand will be more than the supply we will surely breakout the $800 price in no time and we are already almost there actually.Just a little more movement on the price we will touch this price but we should expect that there are times that it will go down again since people will surely secure their profits.

Not being a bear, I am still surprised how good Bitcoin price is behaving. We are observing a solid growth, or at least price is not descending for  a little while already. There is nothing bad about cooling down the indicators a little bit. Now having said that, I expect the price to correct a bit more after Christmas, as these who want to get the profits will do that before year end, for tax reasons.

The bitcoin longterm trend shows in the upwards direction.
I see no reason for those who are holding for a longer time now to sell after christmas.
Those who hold are not actually in need of money, so they can wait to a time where either the price gets stable or might even drop again.

About 10$ from 800$ at this moment (I am using preev.com), we will get there very, very soon. We should be above 800$ on Christmass if a sudden drop does not happen ( hope it does not). Maybe 850$ around New year? Could be very possible if the price keeps rising..

There is demand on one side, but there is also a supply that is growing each day, on the other. I guess, we should see soon signs of the end of this bull leg. A (small) correction would do very good, to get the energy (cash) for the next leg up afterwards. It would also help altcoins to bounce back, as this recent Bitcoin rally got them pressed against the wall.

Today price is $798 on preev and still keep rising at the time I write this post, very close to what we've been waiting for in this month.
I think, we could see $800 today, feel can not wait to screenshot the price and show it to my brother and friends.
But, the price will decline too for sure because some people already have intended to sell their coins at the moment when bitcoin price reach that point.
