EDIT: Thread retitled. See latest post to view latest culprit.

I understand why the infamous pic thread was locked sans asking, but this one eludes me. I look forward to the reply and hopefully it's a good reason that could be used to lock myriad threads in off-topic. TBC, I have major shit on theymos according to the following post, so he best be careful: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1718829.msg17210917#msg17210917  Tongue Tongue Tongue

Thank you, hilariousandco, for the detailed response, where I agree 100% with your assessment. That said, I know that you [paid] mods are pretty busy at times, so allow me (with now perhaps others) to pick up the mod's slack on my (our) dime to weed out even more threads were these nefarious sig spammers game the system where they, too, are earning a buck.

I took the time to read the last 10 pages of the off-topic section and FINALLY found a candidate (okay, maybe I didn't read 10 pages but got lucky with said thread being at the very top of said section hiding in plain sight, hence NEVER before seen by any of the [paid] mods, otherwise it, too, would've be locked by now under the exact same pretense): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=551747.0

Very low value spam thread:

Writing a few words of rubbish:

Thread abused by farmers and sig spammers: (damn sig spammers is the reason we can't have anything nice around here)

I, among others also on their own dime, look forward to working alongside [paid] mods to finally weed out and put an end to threads obviously designed to only cater to them nefarious sig spammers earning a buck. Together, we'll make BitcoinTalk the best damn forum on all the wew (see my sig if not versed).

Amazing what a tad of satire can accomplish. I just noticed several off-topic threads were recently locked. That said, time for bed. Nite, all.

Nice catch, 0x0010! How does it feel to be an unpaid Wikipedia editor-esque entity doing all the field work policing the site while those above us may or may not take timely action, namely merely literally clicking a button to lock a thread, again, thanks to our unpaid efforts while they get paid?

Feels better than spewing out nonsense for less than $0.02. The gambling section is the main example of spamming, considering the fact that half the signature campaigns are gambling services that pay for like 10 posts in there. It's funny how they manage to turn one sentence into ten by saying the same thing over again. This site would be great if the admins did something about it or at least gave permission to some members to do it. But oh well

Can we talk about how individuals continue to add in "As ________ has already said previously, <repeats previous post entirely>"? Lots of "question" threads are plagued by this spam strategy, and Meta is haunted by it constantly [in the threads about ranks, avatars, and usernames].

Example 1: Change avatar?

I would even go as far to say that everything past reply #3 (maybe #4, though it is a little unnecessary) is completely worthless since it's just recycled information.

Example 2 (post): Change username

Step 1: agree with quote
Step 2: repeat what quote said

Bonus YoBit spampost:
I can't believe this supercalifragilisticexpialidocious giveaway is kicking off very soon, it's heating up and people want to start that new year in bliss, I wouldn't blame them Wink

Good luck to all.

(let's add a lengthy word to appear constructive!)

Sometimes things need to be repeated over and over either to show it's importance or to show that many people have the same opinion and ideas about them, if you think like you are right now then we should say why people breed while the world and the people in it are the same over and over in history?
About signature spammers as you like to put it, I must say it's them the admins of those campaigns to blame because they want more posts than the community can provide subjects for, and when you can't find a right subject you'll be forced to repeat and submit useless posts, good thing though we have lots of sh*tcoins announcing every day otherwise trash would've choked us to death Cheesy

I quoted every intelligent part of your reply.

Sometimes things need to be repeated over and over either to show it's importance or to show that many people have the same opinion and ideas about them

Wrong. There is no sense in repeating something that has already been said in a thread where a question is asked. When the question is answered, you should not answer it again.

In real life, do you do this? If a stranger is asking for directions from another person, do you tell them the same thing afterward? No.

if you think like you are right now then we should say why people breed while the world and the people in it are the same over and over in history?

How did you arrive at that conclusion, where people are the same? This statement has no merit because you are making an inconclusive assumption, "people are the same over and over in history" which has neither been stated by me or proven by you.

About signature spammers as you like to put it, I must say it's them the admins of those campaigns to blame because they want more posts than the community can provide subjects for

Why are you blaming the managers for the employees' work? Sure, shittier campaigns have a significant portion of fault lying with the managers - secondstrade for example - but the reality is that you can achieve the quota without spamming. It just takes more time, which a lot of account farmers are unwilling to do. And hence they spam.

You can say that there should be foresight for hiring the posters, though you still can't rely on the manager to deduce the skill of the employee perfectly, and there should not be complete blame directed towards them.

Vicarious liability exists in real life, but it seems a little stupid to blame not the spammer for spamming, but rather the one who pays the spammer (or doesn't, because they are not quality posts).

and when you can't find a right subject you'll be forced to repeat and submit useless posts

So you're telling me when you can't find anything you're forced to spam? You have to break rules to earn bitcoins? That doesn't make sense to me. Why join a campaign when you can't keep up the quota while still producing quality content? There are campaigns that offer lower post counts for a given time frame.

good thing though we have lots of sh*tcoins announcing every day otherwise trash would've choked us to death Cheesy

It already has.

Bonus post:

This is all impossible also my website can't worth 5 btc. since you mention that your website is made 2 months old so it means it is new and it is impossible that you are earnings $100 usd or more because its new.. even in organic traffic via seo you will just get small traffic..
Like my above post why you need to get loan since you are earnings $100 a weeks and why you need more traffic?
This question for me is hard to trust.
If you are doing affiliate marketing with your site better to stay and ask for your manager about early payout maybe they can give you early payout because i am also working in affiliate marketing and any advertising network..

It always brings a smile to me. Smiley

For $2.00 USD via bitcoins, I'll provide the links to the "Do you smoke?" and "Your favorite alcohol" threads needing nuking because ... wait for it ... both are low value spam threads abused by farmers and sig spammers just writing a few words of rubbish every day.

Have I mentioned lately that I love the wew? If not, follow the link in my sig to get up to speed, a sig, BTW, that I get paid by anonymous a grand a month for its inclusion.  Roll Eyes

"Very low value spam thread".

I have to ask: Is there any other type of spam thread?

And I concur.  There is no reason to have to break rules whilst earning money on this forum.  A lot of people are just lazy and/or ignorant.  And a good deal of these shitposters can't write English well, and that most definitely affects post quality.  If you can't write English, a lot of stuff gets lost in the translation.  Idioms, humor, and a whole bunch of other stuff.  The posts start looking all the same.

How's Nevada looking?

I just walked outside and looked across the Colorado River at Nevada for you. It still looks the same. Just got off the phone with Tuxavant, too, giving him a heads-up about a Bitcoin meetup I proposed on that Meetup site thingy and about this crazy viral thread that'll probably cause BitcoinTalk to close down  Cry thanks to what was sadly revealed within: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1735133.0

Back on-topic, ... ahh, fuck it! It's New Years Eve. Besides, what are the chances of any mod seeing this post.  Roll Eyes

EDIT: I couldn't help but notice the view count increasing of the link-to thread above, perhaps due to me posting it here. No spoiler alert, so you'll have to see the latest on your own accord. That's some crazy shit, all. Madness!

EDIT: I couldn't help but notice the view count increasing of the link-to thread above, perhaps due to me posting it here. No spoiler alert, so you'll have to see the latest on your own accord. That's some crazy shit, all. Madness!

I agree with what you said!

Hit 'em with a triple for the new year! (All consecutive posts by the way)

Can someone on the DT please leave me negative trust for being a hacked account. Someone today seems to have hacked the account and organize some altcoin trades. I think I have total control of the account, but I'd like it as a warning for anyone who is dealing with this account or thinks they are communicating with me
That is not the solution for your problem like @densuj said you can change your password and email address to get back your controlled to your account. As for now theirs no one else complaining a scam attempts with that account.
Hello,
If you are satisfied with above solutions then no problem afterall an account details can be entirely change on BitcoonTalk, otherwise contact me for negative trust.

Exactly, although we give the negative trusted must there are valid proof and this thread is not valid proof for reasons of us giving negative trusted.
During there are no  dupe using that account, there are no reasons for the members giving negative trusted. Although the owner of account wants it.

I had an idea for campaigns, though this would likely not be implemented - to deter farmers from switching campaigns to different ones that they can spam in (potentially with higher payouts) the campaign can allow the users to start off at the rank below theirs, and after a week of quality posts, they will be promoted to their forum rank. This both allows a trial period and deters switching out of campaigns (and kind of plays a factor in an increased post quality as being kicked out of a campaign will mean a lower pay for a week)

Ditto. I agree and concur with your assessment. +1 and spot on. That said, please rate my new sig campaign. Killer, eh?

Full Disclosure: This user account may or may not be in the control of that scammy-ass Bruno Kucinskas now living in Arizona perhaps procuring even more domains that'll never amount to a hill of beans - or whatever alpacas eat - hence not worthy to callout real nefarious actors in this space.  Tongue

fake EDIT: Mods, please ignore the following, for it obvious to now me and everybody else on the fuckin' planet (or flat Earth) that the following post IS NOT on a very low value spam thread abused by farmers and sig spammers.

Is it not ironic when a thread about OP hating spam leads to spam? (almost as if... it was intended to do so!)

Oh, and this is really classic and an excellent post:

Between the sig campaign spam and the idiots I just want to leave and never come back. It's really disappointing

I really love it   Cool

I recommend you ,Find out more about the forum  Wink

because there are a lot of useful information to make money

and is where you can learn, share experiences knowledge ...

all completely get free. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

good luck  Wink

In the event of a necrobump, can all subsequent posts be deleted? There are rare times when necrobumps lead to a continuation of quality discussion, which I have yet to witness.

Here are consecutive posts after the bump (and this is page 12), just to drive the point.

This should have never happen. I mean its software fault, there should be safe procedures for that.
If fee is higher than amount spent, block it Sad
This is possibly some error done by the software or by the sender. Such fees could only be possible if you send tens of thousand of bitcoins in one transaction. The miners are very lucky if they received 15 btc in one go.

This is a shocking reality in bitcoin reality and has happened once in a lifetime. This should be recorded in bitcoin history as the highest bitcoin transaction fee ever recorded.

Well it is not that big of an amount to be honest, compared to the ones that are being sent every second,  couple a  minutes ago I saw a transaction of 100 btc, like how that is even possible, how are they able to send that large amount of bitcoin for fees, whoever has that amount must be filthy rich to be able to send for miner's sake.
I just wondering , how can this type of mistake possible? I think fee are automatically being charged right. This is such huge huge mistake ever , I can't even imagine if that was me. Pheww. Looking at current btc price and 15 btc as fee. I'm going to shop and buy myself a rope. LoL !

The fee is whatever is left from the inputs that is not spent. If you are using some a wallet this shouldn't happen unless there is a bug.
Wow, what a huge amount! This guy spent fortune for a fee. But how this could even happen, unless is some kind of bug. The fee is way to big for amount spent so transaction couldn't even be executed. Or am I wrong?  Anyway, this was one in a time lucky event for miners.
MAy be someone made a mistake by putting 15 btc fees instead of 15 Mbtc (noob mistake ?)

There are two pages worth of this crap. Should there be an auto-lock feature? Any arguments against it should be able to be justified through manual unlocking of the thread (either via staff or the thread starter). It can be after x days or x pages.

(I just PM'd OP to lock the thread, and hopefully that'll put an end to one of them

Perhaps a mass purging of all threads in

  • Bitcoin Discussion
  • Off-topic
  • Gambling discussion
  • Economics & Speculation

would help.

It's surprising - even Technical Support has started to attract the swarms of ants... but not Technical Discussion, right?

For storage the safest wallet is my mind

(and of course the thread is started by a newbie, what a surprise)

The following poster in the last linked-to thread above during his pumping-up-the-post-count days while still a pup (emphasis below mine):

The price it´s going up fast. And this is just the beggining, 2000 sats in the next hour and more than 3000 sats by 00:00 (The launch)

Its exciting to watch isn't it?

Thread is not now locked due to mods no longer nuking threads populated by sig campaigners. Here's my latest one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1741433.0
