This is happening right now on their Slack.

Allegations of stolen coins, fraud, etc... Anyway, the lead developer apparently quit. Please check out the ZCoin Slack channel for more clarification... I can't figure it out.

It was clearly a scam right from the very beginning. I do not know why some of the people in this forum did not think it was, maybe they thought they could make money with it.

When zcash was about to be released suddenly 2 Asians released a white paper for zcoin. The zcoin website was made to look like they invented the zero coin protocol with all the testimonials posted by known developers of bitcoin.

I wont quote for you newbie Smiley, what a shocking news I hear, did someone for real stole some coins and ran off for the girls and beers? but why not? it was the point from the beginning and now they have got what they've worked for whether was a scam attempt or legit development.

It was clearly a scam right from the very beginning. I do not know why some of the people in this forum did not think it was, maybe they thought they could make money with it.
At the end, the fact was releasing it. This one turn into the scam coin.
When zcash was about to be released suddenly 2 Asians released a white paper for zcoin.
It was repeating in many times. Seems like the hurry behavior.
The zcoin website was made to look like they invented the zero coin protocol with all the testimonials posted by known developers of bitcoin.
The lure purpose?

came across this in the new Zcoin slack created by Poramin.

https://web.archive.org/web/20141016190714/http://blog.kevinzhang.me/posts/tracking-down-gary-le-the-thiel-fellow-and-dartmouth-dropout-who-tried-to-impersonate-me.html

Apparently Gary has a history of unethical behavior, for anyone having trouble picking sides.
