Hey guys I was hoping you could help me. So I have cgminer 2.11.4 and I'm mining litecoins right. The thing is that cgminer says I have 270 Mh/s and my Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 was only supposed to get about 320 Kh/s.
Is there something wrong with cgminer or am I really getting 270 Mh/s. Also how many litecoins does this translate too?

270 sounds about right for a single AMD 6870.

If you want to compare this page is pretty good:

Right but is that MEGAhashes or Kilohashes? If its Kilohashes I only get about 40 LTC or $200 and if its Megahashes I get a heck of a lot more litecoins. So I don't know which one it is.

if you mine litecions you mine in khash/s

Bitcions can mine in Mhash/s

this is due to enscryption difficulty

In terms of earning - would you get more with bitcoin or litecoin?

6870 is only rated at 300MH/s... You might break even mining bitcoins with the cost of electricity, at USD:BTC exchange rate of ~$200:1.  Sorry, it's just the math.

if you want to know what is most profitable you need to look at how much bit coins you can mine in time X and how much litecions in time X

multiply that by the worth of the coin and you have a good indication which coin earns the most.

if you have free electricity then you could skip the cost side of the balance

Hashing LTC?
You need to tell cgminer the --scrypt options

You are now mining BTC on the LTC shares. Not gonna work.
