The price of Bitcoin is difficult to predict as various factors impact the value of the digital currency. However, there are six major events that could lead to a surge in the price of Bitcoin in 2017. These include the activation of Segregated Witness, hereinafter Segwit, the  release of Lightning Network and Tumblebit, approval of Bitcoin ETFs, the financial crash and economic instability.

If everything mentioned there happen with positive outcome then i think we will increase bitcoin users by at least 10% if not more. People are still little skeptical about it and still dont have much fate in it, everyone has his own reasons by this.

But think that we will have other issues here if they wrong about it all have you consider that option and possibility to happen on some reason there i did and if this happens then we could be on sub 700 level for next year.

IF all the things mentioned in the blog happen then I'm mostly expecting bitcoin to be around the $1000 range atleast. I think Bitcoin ETF approval could make some solid waves.

i only believe that the only thing that can have any major impact on bitcoin price is some real adoption. some stuff here are contributing but i don't think any of them are really a direct cause for a mass adoption. these things look more like inviting more investors and the better price moves the more investors come in but price is never going to the moon with only investors (speculators) but instead with real adoption where people start using bitcoin as a currency.

If all of these events happen the price will easily go above $2000.... Segwit, Lightning, Tumblebit + ETF?? That's HUGE!! Lol at people saying $1000.... that was so 2013!! With these changes a conservative low-ball estimate should be $2000

I don't think all of the above mentioned thing will happen/activated within next year but segwit may get activated and may be few more big merchants will start accepting bitcoin payments. Economic stability is always there in almost every country right now and we may not see another big financial crisis next year so i don't think these things will have any impact on price on 2017.

However ban on bigger notes may continue on 2017 also so it may pump the price of bitcoin in atleast local exchange platform and ultimately may have small effect on global price of bitcoin. I think marketcap can easily cross $15 to $18 billion by end of 2017 which in turn may pump price to more than 20% atleast.

I personally think that at this point, segwit will have the best positive short term effect on the price. I just wonder when it will get activated. Browsing through various discussions about this doesn't lead to a clear answer since at this point no one seems to know. Other than that, if you consider the potential impact of everything, then it will make you smile as a long term holder. At least, that's the case with me.

I think we would see a price levels of several thousands of dollars!
But that all 6 events are going to happen next year is very unlikely.
I would already be happy seeing SegWit activated.And maybe one of the ETFs getting approved as well.
Lightning and TumbleBit is way too early!
And we all that the banksters will find ways to delay an major economic collapse.

Never did they consider the real culprit for the rise of Bitcoin. That is the growth if the dark market and the growing use of Bitcoin for criminal activity. Whoever wrote that article is only making up a story to make the "rara" cheer leaders of Bitcoin feel better. The writer may even be a supporter of Segwit.

Well i hope for this other thing you mentioned big merchant accepting bitcoin this would be great and think that this would influence in price maybe, for segwith there are in battle with BU and this is just started and by me this not looks good hope this will be resolved civilized and in good way for all of us.

Even just one or two of those events happening will surely bring a good impact on bitcoin. It could build more trust on bitcoin thus attracting more users into the bitcoin community. More than just bringing the price up, it is more important that those events come true to bring in more users.
