Hi there everybody,

I am from South Africa, a friend showed me bitcoin the other weekend and I just decided hey what the heck lets build our own Mining Pool here in SA.

It took me a week or so to figure out all the components needed and hey there we are !! a Mining Pool Server and frontend ready to go.

Thanks to all the guys on this forum who spent their time building the great Open Source frontend and developing the Pushpoold instance.

Please hop over to www.zabitcoin.co.za and join us I think we will need all the hashing power we can get to eventually make this work.

Still picking up a lot of stale records and I am working on getting that sorted with activating Long Polling.

The pool is very small at the moment only doing a total of about 0.4 Ghash/s and I do not think we have solved a block as yet.

Come on and help us out. Currently we ask a 1% fee but if you guys think we should make it less please let me know on this thread and I will adjust.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Strange though I thought this to be a community, Had over 70 people read my post and not even one hit on the pool site I created.

Oh well seems like we are going it alone.

You realize, there are much better pools available that generate a steady income? Mining with your pool is basically solo-mining with a fee.

I do realize that but every pool had to start out somewhere.

If the fee is the issue then I will drop it.

Hi,

You should set up a sms notification system on the website - I could have notified you early this morning.

It would be better if it is done automatically via the system but the alternative is to set up a button that is only available when the user have a positive balance. When the user send an sms, the system deduct 0.0001 BTC from their estimated earnings and disable the button until it is reset by the administrator of the system. If the notification was valid, the user are credited with the same amount and the button is reset.

Thanks @dcconsulting!
I was also thinking of starting a ZA pool but, quite frankly, I'm glad someone beat me to it.
I'm also from ZA and will probably move my miners over to your pool this weekend.
 Cool

http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=17830.0

New Thread created for this pool. We have been experiencing DDoS attacks the past couple of days.

This in turn kills the pushpoold instance on our server. I will see if I can find the IP's from which this is being done and ask our upstream provider to kill the connection from their side.
