This is huge! There IS actual development going on, and they're close to releasing a new update, and deploying new codes, including deployment of Segwit!

PLUS: Chances of Segwit activating on LTC network before on the BTC network are 100% larger!

Combined with the FACT that OBV (On Balance Volume) has been increasing rapidly, while price has remained stagnant or even down, which is a HUGE BULLISH SIGN (anyone who trades knows this), and the fact that it has been a LONG time ago LTC had a bull rally...

You can be sure big times will happen to Litecoin price within the next 2 to 3 weeks!

Smart money is on Litecoin quarterly futures.

LONG LTC WHILE YOU STILL CAN.

LTC below $4 is a MAGNIFICENT BUY OF UNKNOWN PROPORTIONS.

I am so fucking excited! Litecoin is ALIVE AGAIN!

Big thanks to Coblee, Xinxi and the rest of the LTC development and design team.

Any link? and what about the implementation of SegWit in LTC.

SegWit is being released via a SF (not BIP9 unlike Bitcoin Core) but instead using IsSuperMajority.
When 75% of blocks in a retarget mine with the Litecoin Core 0.13.1 client, it will give the rest of the miners 30 days to upgrade. At 95% all non-segwit mined blocks will not be part of the main fork.

I 2nd that Nomination!   Cheesy

Litecoin & segwit is beyond stupid, they need to quit being followers.

Segwit is the way in for LN (Banking System) ,

Litecoin has 4X BTC current Transaction Capacity, they might as well stick an arrow thru their head, it makes about as much sense as adding segwit.

 Cool

FYI:
They need to jump into Coinbase's shit about getting direct purchases of Litecoin on their system.
That is all they need to skyrocket , none of these other useless shenanigans.

Litecoin has always been a follower of bitcoin. If you didnt realize that, it is probably time to sell.

Also, I might be wrong, but doesn't segwit tackle blockchain bloat as well as transaction speed? If that is the case, it would still be interesting for litecoin to keep the blockchain size in check.

Segwit is dead upon arrival, the Chinese mining pools are never going to agree to it.
https://coin.dance/blocks (it needs 95% to activate by Nov 2017, it will never reach half that %)
LN needs Segwit to work.
LN is Offchain transactions, with instant transfers that will keep the fees for themselves.
(Banking Cartels moving in)

It would only affect a block size by allowing a coin to use a smaller one, as the majority of transactions would be offchain.
LTC already has 4X BTC current transaction capacity, LN offers them nothing but to steal fees from their miners.
LTC adding segwit is beyond stupid, there is no benefit for them whatsoever.

This is what one of the top 3 alt coin developers had to say about Segwit. Gulden has already update to latest code base but left Segwit disabled.

splendid update!!!!!11! Just love it.
Thanks.

Some questions:
1. Is Segwit code integrated in 1.6.1/1.6.2? If so when is the activation date? Is it using version bits or ISM (IsSuperMajority)?
It's integrated but disabled (except on testnet where it is active). We have no immediate plans to activate it on mainnet as right now there is no immediate need (or immediate benefits) to us doing so, we do not have massive block congestion, none of our current services are having overwhelming malleability issues..
There are various risks to activating this ahead of bitcoin, including the fact that it may never activate on bitcoin, if it never activates then perhaps the Bitcoin devs will revisit the malleability problem and find a better solution, perhaps we would rather follow them in that then be stuck supporting a feature they never activated and dumped (just because we wanted to be first) We also have no real desire to being Bitcoins beta testers.

So yes, we could have activated this already if we wanted but we aren't really interested in that right now, we are far more interested in our own projects that we are busy working on which IMO are far more exciting and represent far more real value for our userbase.

I know the above probably sounds strange in the 'crypto' field where other coins are all clamouring to claim they are first at something so that they can score cheap hype points or whatever, but this is how it is.
At Gulden we are focused on sustainable responsible development, not hype driven nonsense and cheap tricks.

Interesting points brought up re "why not" but does not match what it claims to be "sustainable responsible development, and instead compares itself to other hypers and bitcoin. Mentions about various risks to activating but only specifies the one that it may never activate for bitcoin.

It sticks me as incongruent tp say things like "we don't need it now" and then follow up with buzzwords like "sustainable responsible devt".

I don't know what sort of BS you've been listening to. But LN is very useful for things like atomic swaps.
So that means instant swapping of Bitcoin to Litecoin in a consumer-friendly manner. Very important if you ask me.

What makes you think that Litecoin will reach 75% easily? In Bitcoin we are struggling to get 30% because people is fucking stupid and they take ages to get with the program and start updating their software, and of course we also have illiterate morons buying the Roger Ver anti segwit propaganda which doesn't help.

It would be cool if Litecoin can bypass all of it being a tiny coin compared to Bitcoin and get segwit going, but im not sure if Litecoin will have sidechains which is a cool feature that will be perfected with segwit.

This is interesting news. I guess we shall see in practice whether Segwit works properly or not, and if it doesn't then it will make sense if bitcoin doesn't go ahead with it.

Lol one of the top three altcoin developers. Gulden added a new diff retarget algorithm so he's a top three developer? Satoshi, Nic Saberhagen, and MaNI...Riiiiiiiiiight Cheesy

Besides, segwit has additional benefits besides extra block space - eliminating malleability which I think makes implementation of payment channels/lightning easier for instant payments, easier integration of side chains, and easier cross chain transactions. I'm not saying it's a great idea or not, but even if it never activates on Bitcoin it still might be good as then Litecoin would have some distinguishing feature.

Definitely Litecoin will have sidechains. The Litecoin community is onboard for segwit and that is why losh11 is suggesting the 75 percent will be easily reached.

For a legendary member you should know what is going on with bitcoin. You are here for a long time and you should be the one teaching us. SegWit merely stores all the signature data outside of the block and that frees some space to allow more transactions to fit in.
