Hi, can anyone help please have downloaded the new bitcoin QT to my new computer it downloaded all blocks and has finished but the green tick wont appear and it keeps telling me that its catching up now a whole day catching up isnt right, I have downloaded the same one to my other older  computer a couple of days ago same version 0.8.1 no problem can send and receive coins green tick shows up within a min once turned on, now I have deleted the client from the new computer and redownloaded it serveral times but samething once it reopens up little circle just keeps going around downloads blocks an stays up with all the correct amount of blocks but that's it no green tick still says catching up.....? Any body please very frustrating...

PS. when I reopen it, it tells me, ( Warning: please check your computers date and time are correct! If your clock is wrong Bitcoin will not work properly.

Thanks

Sounds silly but are the date and time right?

You could always try copying the chain from your working machine to the non working one and see if it accepts that ok

I'm having a very similar issue and it's been beyond maddening for a couple of days now.  Maybe someone can shed some light on what's going on?

I should mention that I travel a lot so I tether my phone for 4g internet.  I CANNOT get my wallet (bitcoin/litecoin) to sync, and I always get the same warning notification: ..."If your clock is wrong Bitcoin will not work properly."  I've checked and double-checked my settings and my time zone.  I've tried changing it to other time zones to see if maybe my tether sets up elsewhere, I've tried changing the way windows syncs it's clock to make it more accurate.  I've checked BIOS date/time.  I've tried several versions of the wallet.  Is this an issue with 4G tethering or am I just missing something uniquely simple?  Thanks for any help guys, it's much appreciated as I'm at the end of my resources.

TL;DR Date and Time are correct on comp, cannot sync wallet due to mismatch, I use 4g tethering for internets.
