0.8.1 Backing up Bitcoin QT wallet easily

Hi, this may sound stupid what im asking but im not the best with computers so please forgive me and im learning, if I click the back up wallet button in file can I save this straight to a USB or anywhere on my computer or is there something more I should be doing, I tried reading about the backing up somewhere thru disk management but I cant figure it all out, can someone please explain. Is there a plain an simple way for somebody like me.
