I used my cryptopay card to make a deposit to a online casino. And they locked my card when I received my withdrawal (450 gbp) from the casino and asking me to verify my account. I already sent my documents 2 times. They are still refusing to release my fund.

Then I asked them to send back the money to casino. But they said they can't do that. Total bullshit. They asked me to contact their banking provider by an email. We deal with cryptopay, not with a third party. And their TOS don't have a word about such thing. I don't really believe the bank will respond to me by email. I guess it's a clever scam.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Yes they have sent me message regarding this, not only gambling they are saying they will lock card if you receive fund from paypal and skrill too.

Please note that unverified customers are not able to accept payments from third party websites like PayPal, Skrill or online casinos.

And it seem this is due to updated KYC policy of wave crest limited (Card issuer). This may now affect all other debit card provider affiliated to wave crest.

I'm sending this email to remind you about changes in "Know Your Customer" policy of our issuing partner — Wave Crest Limited.

Better you try sending your document again, please note that they don't accept document with non-latin characters (i think passport is good for this). Try to translate if you have document with non-latin characters before sending them.

I never used this service actualy ever since, its really sad that bitcoin related companies updated to KYC policy, in my part it basically destroy the capabilities of bitcoin as to become anonymous in sending and recieving, but as cryptopay ha a good service well you have to follow and implement their new rules as well. Thanks for the information anyways.

Seriously, they block you when using PP/Skrill as well, two of the largest payment processors IN THE WORLD? Luckily, I haven't used Cryptopay, but looks like they're taking the Coinbase "let's alienate our users" path.

Almost all of the bitcoin debit card providers are using wave crest holding as card issuer so bascially this means we have left with no alternative? Anybody know other bitcoin debit card provider which doesn't issue card from wave crest?

However i don't think sending document to get your card unblocked will be bigger issue.

if you want deposit in gambling site use debitcard(support bitcoin)
maybe is good advcash, can support all transaction
or you can choice uquid debitcard, because in there still anonymous without verified ID, this detail https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1485950.0

I think is high requirement verified ID, not support gambling site

your problem sovled your must contact to support helping cryptopay

So, and the better way for retired from the debit card service, if all of the sites will be turning into very tight.   Cheesy   They will lose the member and it seems like turn into the other circle, give a hot statement at the end of his bitcoin service.  Cheesy Interesting for watch.

I guess this might be a little bashful reponsne but why do you even use debit/credit cards for gambling when there are dozens of reputable and serious bitcoin powered casinos?
You know that gambling and standard banking transfers had really long history of being incompatible with each other, yet people are repeating the same mistakes all over again.
When you want to gamble use bitcoin casino/sportbook and standard (not online) wallet to make your deposits. You will be safe.

Anyway what is the name of the casino you played?

Do they actually have the right to freeze funds if people gamble with them , specially in the case if the gambling sites are legal in the gamblers jurisdiction ? Or can they dictate the rules themselves and freeze funds like this ?

There's probably something about this on their T&C.
It's always messy when dealing with banks(yes,I think of wavecrest as a bank). Of course they can freeze our accounts, why? Because it was probably in their T&C , which we agreed to.

Anyway, @OP, keep talking with cryptopay, have them help you/intervene on your behalf with wavecrest. You can probably get your funds back, but, you'll likely be asked to go through tons of verification. Would be weeks and months. Good luck.

Ahhh !! Not I see and what you say makes perfect sense. Thank you Aubert ! I always wondered how they would magically allow bitcoin to be use to pay for things. I would never trust another bank that is not even in my own country. No thank you. I use localbitcoin and have never had a problem before.

Well, thats never anything new about them. Can't they simply change those from time to time ? and if no one has archived their t&c, they cannot be challenged in court. I believe QS caught a casino doing a similar thing in the past.

Good luck.

Well, thats never anything new about them. Can't they simply change those from time to time ? and if no one has archived their t&c, they cannot be challenged in court. I believe QS caught a casino doing a similar thing in the past.

Technically, even with changed T&C, you can't challenge them. Most have a note that they can be changed at any time without prior notice. So even if they change it right this second to something that allows them to wipe your balance, that would be legally allowed.
