Howdy!

John here from bc4wp with another excellent thingy to provide the Bitcoin community with : )

http://chaingames.net

We've sold a lot of copies of our Chain Game plugin (over here) but have noticed many folks were unable to
meet the semi-steep barrier to entry at the price we'd like to keep it at. While lowering it a few times
crossed our minds to accommodate for the rise in Bitcoin prices, we wanted it's value to remain constant
and firm for our previous customer's sake.

In response to the demand, we've released a service known as ChainGames.net to where anyone
can start and run their own Chain Game, for free. This is a hosted service - so ya'll will need to contact
us if you want any intense visual / layout uniqueness, but in general all branding and game settings
are customizable.

The game addresses will look like http://gem.chaingames.net, but can be masked to have their own
domain instead (ex. http://gem.com) while still being managed in an easy central place.

For a deeper description of the Chain Game itself (or if you only want to host it yourself), refer to the original thread for them.

Here's the features and prices:

Features
Free Chain Game
Free hosting
Unlimited bandwidth
Custom Play Settings
Custom Game Object
Unlimited Players
Instant Confirmations

Pricing
Startup Costs: None
Running Costs: None
Payout Transaction Fee: 2%
Custom Layout: 1 btc
Custom Domain: 0.5 btc

The slight fee on player payouts is to cover the hosting / running / support costs, and never comes out of pocket (comes from the players in the game themselves).

If there are features ya'll want or have suggestions / requests, let me know!

Anywho, you can make your own in just minutes here:
http://chaingames.net

For a link to the original chain game:  www.bitcoingem.com

Many of the carbon copies of the original site lack traffic and appeal due to the fact that players confidence lies with the hope that another will come and buy the gem.

Creating another knockoff and hoping people play it is a waste of money and as you can see from the knockoffs they have recieved almost no previous buyers.

There is much more risk involved for the players when no one goes to your site.

Some excellent games so far:

http://theorb.biz/
http://bitbears.com/
http://www.bitcoincrown.com/
http://bitcoingoldbar.com/
http://bitkitty.net/

Diversity is a good thing - I like having all the different settings chosen by the person running the game. Each personality comes through in the branding and makes each game fun - can't say any one is better than the others, all have lots of active players.

To each is own I 'spose : )

waste of money

It's free : P

Added a listing of active games, so folks can compare them and play the ones that have the play-style they'd like.

Can be found on the main site nav or here: http://chaingames.net/games-list/

I would watch out for BitKitty, gold bar and the jade.

http://bitcoingoldbar.com/
http://bitkitty.net/
http://bitjade.com/

BitKitty support e-mails are bouncing back. Gold bar and Jade have had pending payouts for 4+ days now.

Heads up!

*edit added the bounced back e-mail

This issue has been resolved - it was a delay on the payout api from blockchain.info.

Yes, it has been resolved for _future buyers_ however take a stroll through the previous owners list and you will find __10__ pending payouts on bitcoin goldbar. This is also the case with bitbears and the jade to a lesser extent.

Furthermore i still can't get in contact with the owner/support of bitKitty.

Edit* The bitkitty e-mail has a typo, just got response with support@bitkitty.net not .com as displayed on the site.

None of these sites are worth playing if no one else plays.

Play the original, the most popular and best run, with far and beyond the most traffic.

I am interested in having my own domain connected to this service, can you tell me please how would it be done? I hope there's something more than a simple redirection.. So what can I get for 0.5 BTC? Is a CNAME modification necessary? Can it be done on godaddy domain service?

Thanks for the question. As the admin I'd configure your site to be masked and associated with the domain name you provide.

On your end, we'd (with my help or if you wanted to do it yourself) point the A record for the domain to the chaingames.net server's IP address. The whole process is quite simple and can be done at every (in theory) registrar, including GoDaddy.

In a matter of minutes (or however long you set the TTL to for the A record, preferably 5 minutes) your game will be directly accessible through your domain name as if on it's own website.

I would like to thank anzy for great support. It took less than 2 hours to set up a new domain for his service, I'll check in the next few days if everything works smoothly.

I would like to thank anzy for great support.

You're most welcome : )
I have been having a very difficult time getting anzy to provide me any support.  The chaingames are set up so that when you create one from his "free" plug-in, your own personal email address is used so that every time someone gets ripped off, they email you, instead of him, the developer.
I've had several people emailing me, complaining that their purchase never shows up, and the bitcoin address they were given to pay to has already received numerous confirmations.  This same thing happens on his other site, puppytwist, where I've purchased multiple ads from the site, but they never get registered on the site.

anzy, if you aren't a scammer, please contact me and address the issues that I am having with your sites.  I possess all pertinent txid's and would love an explanation, or some kind of remedy to the problems that I am having with your creations.  You put these services out there, I've tested them out, reported bugs, and I get ignored when contacting you, but others give you praise(probably fake accounts) and you respond positively.

I have my chaingames set up properly and they are not working... PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY

Howdy! The truth is:

1) I just now saw this reply of yours, and
2) My real-world job got rather demanding, so I haven't had the time to resume any Bitcoin-related ventures.

The problems that occur are 99.9% of the time due to blockchain.info's API & service not being reliable. A work-around would be to
rebuild the chain games to use it's own bitcoind instance, but refer to point #2 above.
