It's already created but major problem with decentralized exchanges is that there is not a lot of people using them. It will take too much time to do anything there. If some major scandal happen with some massive exchange like document leak or smth like that, decentralized exchanges may become more popular.

I haven't used Bitsquare (https://bitsquare.io/), but it claims to be decentralized and it received a good amount of positive comments from trusted bitcoiners.

Yes, it is. but for me, it dies. Lack of the user, volume, and other. But I never have seen about the decentralised exchange hype. Like bitsquare there is a little volume was cycling in there and like the other but openledger still better than bitsquare with their complicated UI. His UI sucks.

What does it even mean decentralized exchange? I mean is it something that favors people's money and security?
If so then we should see them popping up every day but seems not to be a thing that could potentially help many.

Do you know if using Tor is compulsory for bitsquare?

Whoever creates a decentralize exchange with fiat an no latency will be huge! The holy grail. Then we could move to stocks and other instruments.

The Blocknet just released the latest version of its DX. It's the only decentralized exchange I've heard of where you don't have to send Bitcoin to a third party to trade. Trade direct between blockchain wallets, ie Bitcoin wallet to Litecoin wallet. The DX is their backend they have been working on for two years. Up next on development is an easy to use UI.

They also are working on a Linux distro and a mobile app that include the DX.

SuperNet platform offers a decentralized exchange named MultiGateway which is based on Nxt Asset Exchange (AE). And Nxt AE itself which has also proven its utility for some ICOs like NEM (New Economy Movement).

I wonder how this is even possible. Who will take care of the servers ? To whom will the fees go, if there is any. Also, if there's a bug, anyone will be able to exploit it as no one will be able to take down the platform to repair it as no one has the control over it. For me there's great questions to answer before such kind of project can be imagined.
