Wallet is restored but can't send without password

Hi guys,

I've researched this as best I can but can't find a situation quite like mine.

A few days ago I restored my wallet from the seed but didn't try using it till today.  Thats when I realized I needed a password.  Now I know if you lose your password (and I have) and your seed (had it when I restored but can't find it now)... you are outta luck.

But what about if your wallet is still open and up on your screen?  I can see my balance, history and everything, I just can't do anything with it because no password.  I can't restore it again to reset the password because i don't have the seed now.

This is killing me!  I know I messed up (nothing new) but it's right here in front of me and it seems like there ought to be a way while its still open. 

Any ideas?

What wallet software are you using? Restoring from the seed should reset the password.

if you talk about electrum , when you restore by your seed,  it ask you to "choose" a new password , ( not to put your old one ) .  the fill the two line with a new password and you're done !

I can't restore it again to reset the password because i don't have the seed now.

Why would you ever get rid of your seed?

In general, the password is set after you store the seed, which means the password you used to have can't possible be included in the seed.

No, there is no way to crack the password even though it is open.

You can try bruteforcing it: https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover. It would help ALOT if you have an idea of what the password is like.
