I've added bitcoins to my electrum wallet, and tried to send to another wallet on a market web site. It's been two days and nothing has happened. The bitcoins are still in my wallet. It seemed to go through... signed and confirmed... I set it to 5 blocks. What could be wrong?
thanks, Trisolo

Can you post the transaction ID? If it's already confirmed then you might have been scammed.
|
Trusted an exchange that climbed to the top 3 in just under 2 years with your money? you are fucking stupid.

Sorry, but where do I find the transaction id? In the history tab , click right -> Details , the transaction ID should be the first thing you will see at the top. You could also right click -> View on block explorer and post the link here.

try switching to a different electrum server using tools menu > network. you say the bitcoins are still in your wallet so what does this transaction do anyway? maybe you can save the transaction and then upload it to pastebin so we can see what it's all about. you can find the save option in the transaction details that omegastarscream talked about above.

Weird , I can't find it and I tried both blockchain.info & blocktrail.com. What do you get If you click "View on block explorer" ? ----------- Odd... but the transaction ID has changed to: 3915ae046d861519abcc043869e918ac408084fe5ebcd157efbbdb4562b5bd11 In Block explorer is list 2 transactions for dollar amounts way higher than i sent! and nothing has arrived to where i sent it. Actually, the "total amount transacted" is about what i sent. But the "Total Input and output are way higher... i've got a lot to learn about bitcoin! But i still don't know where the transaction ended up... not in the wallet i sent it to.

There's no way to know who owns an address unless the owner posted it somewhere saying it's theirs. Just to make sure, try going to the console and type ismine('replacethiswithaddress') to see if you own that address or not. If it returns true then you have the address.

Can't you tell from the balance? Just in case you don't know, you can press CTRL + A to enable the addresses tab. Your change addresses should be listed under "Change" at the bottom of the list.

Okay, thanks. Across from the "receiving" address states Balance 270. Tx 1. All the "Change addresses state 0.

The second transaction you posted appears to be a transaction to your wallet instead of from your wallet.
If the bitcoins are still in your wallet and the transaction is nowhere to be found, just create another one. Can't be sure about what happened but it's possible that the last transaction was dropped from the network.

Oh! Well, if i had to make a dumb newbie mistake, that's a good one! I'll try again. Thanks for your help Longbob72! (along with Jhanzo and Abdussamad) Best, Trisolo
