I can't believe Gox still has no stop loss orders to at least be protected that way. I put in a market sell order for all my coins around $230. By the time Gox processed it coins were at $150 Sad

My coins went from 0.059BTC to a whopping 0.089BTC. I sold at 230 and bought at 130. So you could say that I made a lot for a noob like me.

You just gave your money away. The grand manipulator is awesome. 3k coins to 200 and 7k to ATH.  Smiley

I always use fixed price buy and sell on Mt.Gox.  Never had any problems.  I didn't know "market price" trades had so much risk, now I do.

it made me 500euro (i think it s gonna go up so i'll sell later and try to improve this). If i add the last 3 DDOS attack i'm up to 1000e.
not so bad.

The cost of mediation increases transaction costs, limiting the
minimum practical transaction size and cutting off the possibility for small casual transactions

Stop losses get triggered and then become market orders.

Now that would have been DISASTROUS.

A limit order would be useful though.

Hopefully nothing. I refused to move my BTC to fiat but did not want to lose lot of their value so I moved all of them to PPC. I strongly believe that PPC price is low enough to rise enough to save most if not all or even more BTC to fiat value for me if BTC crashes more heavily.

Nothing? I don't understand the question. Not selling.

My bot had auto cancel order after 5 minutes has past.  I have multiple that execute at 7 different times.  They all got frozen due to lag.  I could not sell my bitcoin manually either, because the orders were canceled before they could be executed.  I was at work and unable to get to my server.  Lost $2300 out of $5000.

Ouch!

I profited from it - it was pretty predictable how people react.  I only wish I was more aggressive in my speculation.

Bought 10 coins at $238 thinking I was getting them "cheap", then another 40 coins at 126 during the second dip.

Since I had sold 50 coins yesterday at 199, I have the exact same number of coins now, but I have an extra 1k in cash so I am slightly better off presently at 175 if I had not bought any.

At worst point I had lost 100k today from the high at 265. Presently I'm down 65k or so from the high, but I prefer to think of it as up 125k from my 10k investment.
