They are clearly far below industry standard for such value of transactions. Have they even addressed this issue? We had 70 minute lag

I don't think the hardware is the problem. Rather MagicalTux has been referring to an exchange engine rewrite that's been in the works. You can get him during daytime in Japan on #mtgox freenode channel.

somethings wrong -- i deposited some coins this morning -- and bam 6 hours later still unconfirmed with 0 confirmations....


i guess thats the pitfall of btc =[ --
