Why lock this thread?: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1527225.0

That is a really interesting thread.  Despite those being real keys, many, many people keep insisting they are not.  RawDog was schooling them about how private keys work.  So, he is a rude obnoxious idiot with no class whatever, he was actually helping many to gain a better understanding of the network.  Anything that improves the understanding of things like private keys should not be banned from this site.

What is the objective of the administration in doing this kind of censorship?  What exactly are they trying to hide?

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

It was just an idiot trying to scare people. It was also months old and served absolutely no purpose. Thats why it's gone, because obviously the mods agree with me.

Also, this should be in Meta.

So what if these lists are online, try every private key 1 by 1 and i can guarantee you that you will be dead before you find a single bitcoin.   Grin

It was just an idiot trying to scare people.

He was trying to get people to understand that it doesn't matter if the key is there.  Similar to showing that stupid picture of the sun and talking about molecules.

Denying that the key in on the site is just incorrect.  RawDog wasn't scaring people, he was educating people about infinity.

To me it looks like the mods are idiots.  To them, dumber is better somehow.

Not to mention it was started as a troll thread and had lots of incorrect information solely to misinform people.

Sadly you lack the intelligence to understand that there is an important link between the physical properties of thermodynamics and counting through all possible private keys.

Short: you are wrong and rawdog is a troll.

Edit

Where do you get the idea that ppl think the list is not real?

It's hard to tell when he's trolling, though I've seen some of his youtube vids.  As to why the thread got locked...it's old and was probably perceived as a troll thread.  But I agree, there are a lot of threads that definitely don't get locked here that deserve to.  And they're not even trolling, it's mostly just sig shitpost spam bait stuff.  But whatever--I'd rather see more threads get axed than less.  So many around here are complete garbage.

Normally they are turning the internet off, to save peoples lifes. Now is time. We cann all do that. Turn your internet off And  stay offline . The only that can help now. The future off the planet in in your hand.

1. It's not infinity. Just because your little pea brain can't understand 2^256 doesn't make it infinity. It's highly highly highly improbable that there would ever be a collision. It's never going to happen in our lifetime, but that doesn't mean in 4 quadrillion years there wont be a collision ever. (I'm sure bitcoins will last at least 5 quadrillion year, right guys?).

2. The website doesn't list all possible keys. So your logic is, of course, as usual, flawed.

Did I miss anything?

Edit:
But don't worry, the signature spammers will always find a thread to spam their half English have gibberish posts on.

If there is a censorship that thread would've been moved to the trashcan.  From what I see that thread got locked because of the trolling and also because replies pretty much goes in a circle since it started (User A asking if it's true or something similar, User B telling it's not true, rawdog trolling, Someone else counters rawdog with a little techy post, rawdog trolls back, and on and on).

He was trying to get people to understand that it doesn't matter if the key is there.  Similar to showing that stupid picture of the sun and talking about molecules.

Denying that the key in on the site is just incorrect.  RawDog wasn't scaring people, he was educating people about infinity.

It did look like that at first, actually.  But then the constant trolling and swearing kinda blew all of it.

Trusted an exchange that climbed to the top 3 in just under 2 years with your money? you are fucking stupid.
