CNBC Analysts Explain Bitcoin Price Surge on Mainstream TV

While most mainstream outlets failed to note some of the specific factors that led to the price surge of Bitcoin, analysts at CNBC explicitly outlined three major factors which contributed to the increasing Bitcoin price. These three were:

• Increase in demand, decrease in supply
• Devaluation of yuan & rupee, and increasing capital controls
• Less than 5 mln Bitcoin left, spurring panic buyers

Not a bad analysis from what I can see, a lot of those things listed are accurate to what we're seeing and so far it has had a noticeable impact on the value of Bitcoin.

Not sure how many people care with the lessening supply, however. I can't think of many people who really worry about the remaining supply. The value is probably impacted more by halvings than it is the overall supply.

I think there has defiantly a more positive spin on bitcoin growth this time round.  Good news stories are great in the long term for boosting bitcoins popularity, and may attract more investors.
