I've been running my Bitcoin-QT on my win7 for the last week and it's still not fully sync'ed.  On the right side of the Wallet and recent transactions it says in red , "Out of sync."

I'm on block 230714.

Any advice?  I tried search & google.  I'm not using the right terms to search.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

You are only a day behind, if you leave Bitcoin open for a few hours, it will definitely be caught up unless there is some malfunction/corruption.

How do you know which block you are on? Mine is running but shows no block download info. Just the red "out of sync" message. (it is a new download and I am a total tech newbie)

You can hover your mouse over the bottom right icons and the sync bar, and you will get status details for each of connections and block number. The "days behind" progress bar is how long ago the last blockchain block you downloaded was created. The current network block can be obtained here: http://blockexplorer.com/q/getblockcount

Mine is having the same problem.  Been about 6 hours at 39%.  It gave me an error message saying it was corrupt and had to rebuild.  Is there a chance this could all be lost?!
