What's the point of the source when everyone is going to run the pre compiled version anyway?

What's the point of the source when everyone is going to run the pre compiled version anyway?

The point is to make sure that you and the others can review the code, and perhaps compile it for yourself if you're afraid to use the pre-compiled.
