Haven't played bitcoin poker for a while, just when I started looking for my old sites they are both closed, I probably even had some chips in there, bitcoin is rising since Trump entered the scene, why are poker sites suffering?

We can't really answer you because you didn't tell us what sites are you talking about? There can be several reasons why they are closed, to big competition, maybe someone hack them and steal funds, maybe they run away with money, who knows? I don't see connection between Trump and that.

I also find some old poker site has been closed, but I can say its not related to Trump at all. Usually the only reasons why the casino owner decides to close his casino are:
  • only popular because of many promotion, and many people abusing it
  • there is no big whale
  • too much promotions, but it doesnt give impact for new gambler amount and income
  • bad management

Bad management is actually the main reason behind the closure of many poker websites. You have to maintain a balance between what people want and at the same time to keep making profit. Undecided

What sites are you mentioned about? May be if you can tell us which site, some of us know the answer though but without you telling us the exact site then we dont know anything about it though. But if you said that most of them are close, i can tell you this. Not all people are really attract on poker games, because it really takes time. Although the prize is really good but people enjoy on something fast like dice game or even some slots which have fast cash and fast payout too

It's not just that, there are quite a lot more reasons why most of these online poker sites all go down. Mainly there are only a few that patronize online poker rooms probably because it's quite hard to play and slow unlike if you play on other casino games. Also, it's not as amusing to play in online poker games than real poker games.

I think so too. Every time I join poker rooms in online casinos it is mostly empty. Most of it is empty. The ones that are filled are the free ones that give away money for winning the whole tournament. It's mostly hourly tournaments where the pot is just a few mbtc. Which is sad to say is boring. The ones that really have a buy is all empty.

Two specific sites I'm talking about, luckyflop.eu and bitspoker.com, I could be wrong but I thought they had enough players to stay afloat. Luckyflop had freerolls every hour, maybe they just couldn't afford it anymore, but bitspoker always had 15-30 players playing cash games, barely any freerolls.

SWC only has 10-30 players and they seem to be doing good still, and they had many legal expenses.

I think ultimately the reason is because nobody wants to play Poker online because they don't know if the opponent is cheating in anyway. I know that each hand is unique and its not unlike the real casinos but Poker is generally a game that's best played in a physical casino.

Also the sites you mentioned I think they simply closed down to a lack or funds. They probably didn't have the right campaign for promotion and due to lack of user interest they closed down. They couldn't make too much money because they also had to keep the house edge low and decided it was too much work keeping it running.

According to this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=961298.0 luckyflop closed door without any notification at all, and for bitspoker.com i have found some scam accusations. If you like to play poker feel free to check my signature and play on well known site Wink

Is this a joke? Lol Trump has only been elected, he isn't even in office yet Roll Eyes

My guess would be definitely because of the rising prices of BTC, as everyone here has pointed out lol. Also don't know what sites you're talking about, your post is very vague.

I have noticed that most of the gamblers on the bitcoin world prefer to play dice or games like that rather than poker, I don't know why that is or even if I’m right in my observations, but if true then that only means there is not a lot of market for casinos specialized on poker.

People who use bitcoins do prefer to play dice and other fast paced games than playing poker. Maybe it is also because gambling at an online poker site is boring and is very slow. There are so few plays you can also do in an online poker game than in a real one. So you can't really truly play poker how it is meant to be played in the real world, if you play it online. I guess that is what's missing.

Trump having significant impact on bitcoin price is nothing more like placebo, nothing has changed so far and I expect that status quo will be preserved for his whole first term.

Abut bitcoin poker sites dropping from the market - it is only because they have poor user base. Mainly because humongous sites like Pokerstars, Full Tilt, 888poker, iPoker and others.
I assume that serious poker players would rather play on PokerStars with thousands of people at any time, than waste time waiting for table to fill on low populated bitcoin poker site.

Just like with everything online, services recycle themselves enough for the population to occur consistently.

Without question some fly by the night, except many stay during the time new ones pop back up... So to say the BTC gambling industry is dying out, you'd just have to find new terf.

The userbase is beneficial in one way, though. A lot of bad poker players can be seen in the bitcoin scene - though it may be selection bias - and that could be an advantage to playing in bitcoin poker sites. The skill must be polarized however, having extremely bad players and high-skill players in higher stakes. Perhaps this is what draws more players to the larger competitors.

I assume that serious poker players would rather play on PokerStars with thousands of people at any time, than waste time waiting for table to fill on low populated bitcoin poker site.

Likely, but of course another thing is that some notable examples of bitcoin poker sites (NS, FJ) do not support any HUD (afaik) due to their software.

ACR accepts bitcoin, so there's an option for people who want to deposit/withdraw with it.

Let's not talk about PokerStars and the stupidity that they've done this year. From raising the rake to crappy new "cage" games with a time limit... I think I'd prefer other sites.

(And then of course you have Daniel Negraneau the shillmaster)

Could you maybe recommendate some CryptoCurrency poker sites that offer low tables and are trustworthy?
I just can't seem to find any site at all that are using BTC as main currency..

(with the exclusion of betcoin.ag, that's the only poker site i can find that has people playing, but holy guacamole that site is shady..)

RE; Thanks for the kind answer fellow stranger.
