Daily lottery - any interest?

I've been thinking of this for some time (thus the new account on this forum)... but do you think there would be any interest in a daily lottery (eg: for each ticket, pick 5 numbers), the draw (numbers) are based off a real-life lotto (eg: NY State lotto draws - for verifiable draw), and the pool would be divided between the winners (5 numbers right gets the top prize, 4 numbers less, etc..)?

Where state-run lotteries take over 50% of the ticket pool, I was thinking the "house edge" / share would be closer to 0%, and clearly/transparently shown to all ticket holders, etc.

Ideally (dreaming big), everyone would be a winner - either by a small amount, free plays, etc. - and so maybe that the "top prize" wouldn't be as big, there would be lots of smaller players winning something.

Just curious, as I see a lot of quick gamble bitcoin sites out there, all doing the same, but I was thinking... wouldn't it be nice to play the lotto - maybe buy $100 worth of tickets, but actually have a good chance of winning - even if doubling your money, or bigger, getting a $10,000 jackpot. I'm not looking to start a powerball here, but rather a robin hood of lotto system... more winners, bigger pot (not taken by the state/house), and quick payouts...

Lots of gambling sites are offering lottery, i don't see point of starting another one. But if you want to try, why not? First you will have to use escrow, second you need provably fair system(NY state lotto draw or any other lottery draw is good idea).
If you want to create lotto where everybody wins without big wins, less players will play lotto(maybe nobody). Also 100$ tickets for $10K is not something players are looking for when playing lotto.
The whole idea of lotto is to win big money and not to share it. It is actually one very greedy game

i think establishing lotto game needs a huge money for the starting prize. No one will gonna bet on your lottery if the price is just the portion of the total pot collected through the bets. You need to invest huge money as jackpot prize so that you can attract huge amount of people that will bet on your lottery, There is a lot of gambling casino that offers lottery type game for just a short period of time. But no one offers a huge prize for jackpot besides just a multiplier for the base bet.

how are you going to make the house edge 0?

the odds of winning those lottos are ridiculously low, so to make the house edge zero you need a ton of money to pay out the jackpots. where is that going to come from?

some people has already did several times daily lottery service but they do not have much players and in the end they decide to closed their service and honestly i'm not fans of lottery because very difficult to win from this game even you buy a lot of ticket to increase your chance winning but still difficult to won the lottery and if we compare from other games to win the lottery needed more bigger luck rather than playing dice and i personally wouldn't recommend to running lottery service because usually this game have less popular and wouldn't last long

The odds of winning should be better than  a reguler lotto as the prize is much smaller.

Would you play for a prize pool of 1000 USD if it has the same odds as winning 1,000,000 or more, especially if you use the same numbers? Why not buy into the real lotto right away?

Maybe if you strip one or two numbers and make the pick smaller (e.g. only numbers below 30) would make it somewhat more interesting.

That's true but when someone cracks this egg and gets people buying it could be huge ad be a world wide lottery. Jackpots could reach hundreds of millions. i wish I can build it, i've thought about it time and time again but i dont even know where i would start.

This is an "ok" idea but nothing really out of the ordinary or an idea that is worth millions. What just happen is that you create a lottery not based on a system or a provably fair draw but based on a real life draw. I don't think it will be a great hit in the community. Maybe you should just try to know if it does work. I don't think it will be that hard to create one.

It will be hard for you to gather trust first before you start your lottery program, why people gonna trust a new guy like you and even if you like to use some of the trusted guy as escrow to hold those lottery amount it will be hard to find ticket buyers. And to make bigger lottery pot you need to get lots of traffic and have to build good number of registered users which may take years. Trust would be the real issue here and the interest of people on this forum and as you said it would really takes years to get good traffic and many people to join the lottery.I have seen this offer again and again but they fail and eventually stop their idea because they cant get good amount of bettors.

as someone who has been on this forum for more than two years, i have to tell you in my experience i have never seen anyone running a lottery either on the forum or with a website become successful. there are always a couple of problems with lotteries.

1) first one which is the biggest one in my opinion is the fact that people don't seem to be that much interested in lottery in general.

2) it seems that it is always pretty hard to prove a legit pick for lottery and there is always some kind of loophole and there is something that people can not trust about it. and it is not just about trusting the picks.

3) another big problem is that chances of winning is pretty slim. to be honest i personally prefer gambling on dice with a low chance and get the result right away rather than waiting for a lottery site to tell me if i won and not and always wonder whether it was fair.

I agree with most posters above, that a lottery is just not that popular here in the Bitcoin gambling world.
I've played a few myself, on Crypto-Games for example and there is just too little interest in them.

BUT if you were able to make it into something special, with good marketing, it could work.
You'd need a really big budget for that though.

yes i am agree with eternalgloom, because we can not make a big money with lottery without having a big luck in the games beside that, the chances to win is small depending on the other gambling games. but if the site can make another way for inviting people then maybe the site can give a bonus for the people which new in the site or for the people which is loss their money in the games so i think the lottery will be an attracting games.

This is an important point for you to begin with, maybe you should start by giving an opportunity wide for players lotto you, and I hope that if you really do have a "great dream" of lotto your capital is more than 2X, and your idea is for the world maya, not in the real world, so you should really be ready with the challenges that exist in cyberspace, because your idea is the notion that the amount of hundreds of millions,

I ever had the similar idea, but seems like nobody really interest on lottery, one of the most famous question was how to convince them that it is provably fair, and the next complain was how can the user know that there are no fake buyer from the lottery owner, and it is really hard to convince them, so i will suggest you to reconsider, but if you want to try, you are welcome, who knows you got better luck and better system
