Setup the BarterCoin wallet and hit the Drop Coin web page and managed to get my first 5 coins in about 10 minutes.  But, if the only way you can receive the coins without buying them from someone else is to just sit on the Drop Coin page and wait, that is totally useless.  There has to be some mechanism to automatically send out the coins to those users that have their wallets open and available to the network.

Is there an incentive to running a ledger and if so where are the instructions to set it up.

I think it is should on announcement section on this forum and not on altcoins discussion, because it is new coin and i don't know about the bartercoin on announcement section.
Or maybe you have thread about bartercoin on announcement? The informations about it is very very low.

How rude, I do understand what it is! BarterCoin is a free to collect cryptocoin that  I paid  a fair amount of money for to be designed for me "nothing FREE about it".

Yes you collect it from a drops page this is to stop people from setting up miners, after all Bartercoin is to help people that are not wealthy to be able to collect them.
The coins are used to barter with, lol AKA Satoshi Nakamoto set out to change the world one day a time that is still my intention today with BarterCoin "Remember richness is not the cut of the cloth on a mans back, it is about how happy he walks the path of life and the windows he lights on the way in the most darkest souls"
BarterCoin is what it is a coin set up to help the more needy, my way of saying thankyou.
btw anyone joining BarterCoin gets a wallet and can send coins to other members wallets or it would be a waste of time collecting them..

This is that crap like berbercoin. You can only transfer 1 coin at a time and there over 500 coins just like this on that site.
Anyone can make a coin and you get them by doing those drop captcha things. He was never heard from again and neither will you be. There will be no place to trade it, it is crap.

So much negativity Klarki I own this you plonker Mike sold it me fully back in May that is this was made for me all the stuff to make as many coins as i wish but then carried on using is his self also so NO its not the brand name above you quoted so please nip that in the bud matey.

Far to many folks are mentally tide up on where to trade them on a website ...that takes a cut to let you buy and sell from there site. Wake up and smell the coffee. You can swap and "Barter ;-)" them to anyone with a BarterCoin wallet i.e. there are 50 wallets at the moment of me writing this anyone of them you could send BarterCoin to just like any other cash to 1 of the 50 wallets. i.e Jonny is selling home made Puppets  but don't need to barter for anymore food etc  but still wants to make more Bartercoins for rainy day funds so he carry's on using the drops page and selling his pupets for coins mandy son is 8 and its his birthday in a few days so she asks Jonny for his wallet address and sends him the coins she made from the buns she bakes, the tax man is feeling rather fed up because he dont have a barterCoin wallet nor can he tax a barter ;-) what YOU are seeing here is the micro size growth of a new way of living in a mad world that lost its way

wow, in bold letters tough, sorry for my harsh comment but you can't blame me for that, berbercoin has launched before barter and even BitcoinXBT launched at BitcoinGarden before you launched this thread, so what are the chance that we did not noticed that?

You paid 2000 GBP for a coin, that is insane. Any proof of this transaction? Was the deal that he no longer uses the code? Is there going to be an exchange for bartercoin.
