...

I have a blockchain.info wallet on my iPhone, but I cannot get my remaining BTC out, it gives me a an error message "high p-value" (even when I try to send out tiny amounts, sending tiny amounts worked for a while, but not now).  Which of course is bad as I cannot get out my +/- BTC0.05 that is stranded there.

My wife just gave me an iPad for Xmas (it uses iPhone's OS).

Can anyone recommend a dependable & easy-to-use app for Apple mobile?

Thank you!

While I haven't used it on iOS, Copay seems like a decent choice.

  • Unlike with a wallet service like Blockchain.info, you alone are in control of the private keys.
  • It is open source.
  • It is developed and supported by an established and reputable company.

Yeah, I've heard good things about Breadwallet for IOS as well. Whenever Electrum finally releases its IOS version, I'm thinking it will be the goto choice for IOS if it is anywhere near the quality of their desktop version.

Breadwallet is arguably the most secure iPhone bitcoin wallet since it uses hardware storage on your phone for private keys. The only downside is Breadwallet uses a different derivation path than most other wallets so a Breadwallet seed can only be restored to another Breadwallet. I use it on Android and like it, if I used an iPhone this would be my wallet of choice.

...

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, I chose Copay a few days ago.  If I do not like Copay after a few days more of use, I will try breadwallet.

Now my task is to get out (via very small transactions) my BTC out of my iPhone blockchain, info app.

you mean small fee for your transaction? or you are transferring your blockchain funds in to  your new wallet?
Or you want to get your private key from blockchain to install in new wallet?

if you're problem is the transaction fee i think you can pay for 10k/per kb and use this site https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
To accelerate the transaction i do not if its working or not but i am just using this too.. and every time i have transaction i just send my id there and my transaction was fine also there is no additional payment fee there its totally free..

Make crypto as your bank.

I have been experimenting with ViaBTC's accelerator service for a couple of hours now.  To my knowledge, ViaBTC has not won a block, but three of my small trx went through (BTC0.0001 fee) much quicker than before (which could take 3 days).  I have two more in the works which I "accelerated" half an hour ago.

I am sending small amounts off from my blockchain.info iPhone app.  It will not let me choose a fee, it is 0.0001 and that's it, no options.  Nor will the app (now and recently) let me send very much, so I have been sending out what I can (ranging from 0.001 to 0.0025) depending on what the app lets through.  I get error messages all the time, so I feel OK sending out even 0.001 as it is something..................

Only some BTC0.02 to work off.  Then I'm done with that app.

breadwallet is wonderful. I've tried both breadwallet and copay (and pretty much all of the wallet apps available) and breadwallet simply beats them all for it's simplicity, ease of use and security. It is both fast and powerful and also user friendly.

How about Mycellium? It is more known from its Android version, but I learned that there is also version for iOS:  https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mycelium-bitcoin-wallet/id943912290?mt=8
It is really good app, you have complete control over your private keys, can use the wallet in cold storage mode and it is compatible with Trezor.

You can't use the iOS version of Mycelium with hardware wallets sorry to say. ATM the most secure bitcoin wallet for iPhone is Breadwallet. Later in the year I think Ledger Blue hardware wallet will be approved to use with an iPhone app over bluetooth (speculation.)

When talking about small amounts and small transactions, I actually store my dust on a web "wallet" which is easily accessible on my phone -  basically just an account on a website which I use to store my dust and send/receive from within my account.

The thing with dust is most of the good wallets will kill you on tx fees.

Can't wait for Electrum to get itself on iOS and show people what they've been missing.

The Breadwallet seed can be put into Multibit HD.

On my Mac, I have Mulitbit HD with my breadwallet seed.  In the rare instances where Breadwallet locked up in the past (nothing recent), I just fired up my Macbook and did my transaction from Multibit HD.
