In general, I'm pretty bearish on the longevity of altcoins as a whole. With that being said, there is an exception in my platform. I am *very* bullish on the role of altcoins in online gaming.

I've got money in GameCredits and BitCrystals currently, and looking to hedge my portfolio. Any other altcoins that are looking to play a role in the gaming economy? I know there is GoldPieces but I think it's dead? And IIRC some streamer was developing an MMO with a crypto but I can't remember the name of it.

Yes Rubies is a currency used for gambling, but I'm talking more in terms of multiplayer gaming rather than gambling. For example BitCrystals is the currency of a mobile game and GameCredits is a base currency that developers can implement into their virtual economies.

Goldpieces are far from dead, have you seen the market ? It is thriving. There is also hyper which I think is crap but has been taken over by another coin which you can earn playing on their servers. There was 1337 which I also think is crap. There is also digibytes which works with LOL

Also monero (XMR) has a few games that use it and one is a game called cryptokingdoms in which you a citizen and can buy and trade items and own property that pays out dividends.

Then there is TPay which will soon be sued to buy ingame items from various RPG's and FPS games and is my favourite gaming coin.

The only good idea is when someone will create unified altcoin used and accepted by majority of the titles on the market.
Creation of altcoin for every title is pointless. It is literally waste of time, that gaming altcoin at this point will be nothing but glorified name for the ingame currency used by every game.

You want to have successful gaming altcoin? There are 2 ways to achieve that:

1. Create killer game, something that will have AAA quality and will become insanely popular as a result - popularity of altcoin will follow.
2. Create amazing altcoin which is not linked to any specific game. A Generic GameCoin and try to talk to the developers whether they will include it in their games.

Why not use bitcoin for gaming? Why create new coins for this? Do you realize that these right now are nothing but mere ponzi schemes? The strategy that they have created with marketing their coin for gaming means that their target is the younger people of the community. A demographic that is easy to take money from in my opinion.

Clearly you don't understand the purpose of GameCredits at the very least. I spent years working and building my own successful servers in the gaming industry before coming to this team. GameCredits would have saved me thousands upon thousands of dollars. This coin is not a scheme. We've never had an ICO, and have instead self funded ourselves for 3 years with over 1.5 million dollars. Why? Because we're creating a billion dollar solution.

Who is GameCredits targeting? Game developers and gamers. Currently game developers face fees of up to 30% on all payments, long payment processing periods of up to a month, charge back and fraud, low consumer deposit limits, and much more. GameCredits solves all of these problems while also providing a number of benefits to gamers. If game developers use our platform they could potentially save millions upon millions. We already hundreds of game developers signed up to use our product, and are testing in two large games with over 10 million registered users between the two of them. Bitcoin cannot do what we do. Why would a gamer want to transfer their money into bitcoin to pay for in game items(By the middle of this month gamers can buy GameCredits with paypal/credit card)? Why would a developer want to create a complicated system using bitcoin to monetize their video game (meaning creating in game tournaments where players earn bitcoin. Our API allows for this simply)? Creating an easy to use and FREE blockchain based payment gateway completely revolutionizes the industry, and is a win for everyone.

If you think that GameCredits is a ponzi scheme, you don't know anything about us. We're a group of game developers and gamers working to provide a solution for other game developers and gamers, and we've been working on this since 2014.

Thosuands of gamers are already using our platform and benefiting from what we provide. I'd suggest doing some more research before you jump to conclusions.

You're spot on with your two ways to create a successful gaming coin. GameCredits is currently in the midst of number two.

GameCredits is not specific to any game. We currently have partnerships with many developers, and are just finishing up launching in every game created by Datcroft Games with millions of registered players. Afterward, we integrate on hundreds of more games from tens of developers we currently have partnerships with. We're on the precipice of something huge after years of development and work.

There are only a few alt coins that are accepted in gambling sites, not sue of gaming though. Like directbet accepts betting in clams, ether, doge etc and of course bitcoins.

Regards.
