I'm not counting pumps and dumps but the lowest price each year, because this shows you the minimum you are earning every year, even if you're late for the selling party and missing every single pump. In the long run it is easy to realize that there is a lot of upward potential. Particularly in this year, there are a series of events that can make Bitcoin reach values never reached before. Some of these events are the launch of Bitcoin ETFs, the launch of new applications among other things that can happen. I'm not sure if SegWit will be activated this year, although many experts point it out as the best solution to put an end in the scaling debate.

Some people suggest other solutions, I think that one of them is called FlexTrans, but it seems that SegWit has more community support.

Bitcoin has made a huge sucess in the past with small community, nowadays we are several more and i still see beneficts to be at bitcoin, last year value wow, to be clear bitcoin is growing always a bit all years, the halving does make bitcoin grow over time, and we can see at those list, but 2016 its wrong it started at 400 and went into 900 dollars.
The risk to invest into bitcoin is hight since pumps and dumps happens always, if you follow the bitcoin a bit you will know the best moment to get int and to get out.

People can only experience a loss if they bought in a higher price and if they panic sell when they just see Bitcoin price going down, But if you are an experienced trader of Bitcoin you will not sell your Bought Bitcoin if you are not going to profit unless you need quick money for something.

But as far as i know there is not government accepting bitcoin yet legitimately. And no one take tax from bitcoin. So may be for nowadays investing bitcoin is very profitable and have many benefits.

I think each investor must have some amount of bitcoin in his/her portfolio. The percentage depends on understanding of risk. In addition, the portfolio must contain not only bitcoin but also other cryptocurrencies.
