Hi

I'm looking for a way to accept Bitcoin donations by adding a link to my site.
I've found hundreds of ways to add a donation button to my site, but I need it to be a simple http:// link.

Can someone give me a tip, please?

I normally just paste my Bitcoin address and then let the other person copy and paste it. I personally use a mobile wallet and if I purchase something using my desktop, all I do is to paste the payment address at https://blockchain.info/ then scan the QR code.

I just came across this new project recently and you may like it. The Bitcointalk topic is here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=172496 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1724968. The website is located here https://1bit.co/.

So all I need to do is to https://1bit.co/PAq4 or https://1bit.co/1JTKingdNGmCfbP8HCbhenoxRQuy8tqZvs.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

Time to be active on the crypto forums again? Proud to be one of the few Legendary members of the Sparkie Red Dot!

Gonna put this on my resume if I ever join a cryptocurrency/blockchain industry!

Thanks a bunch!

I couldn't understand a word that was posted on the thread, but the service looks exactly what I needed!

Ouch. I linked a wrong thread. I accidentally deleted the last digit from the link. Here is the correct link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1724968.

You dont need a service, you can just use the common URI for bitcoin, e.g. on my node page I have this as link

Code:
bitcoin:1E6MkNW9smz9GKi4AXbegND4ctujCZnSjA?label=shorenafullnode

With a locally installed bitcoin app, it will open the app, prepare a new transaction and fill in the label and address accordingly. You can even preset an amount if you want.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

If you plan on using a QR code be sure to check periodically to make sure no one has altered your website and put there own QR code in place of yours. It might be difficult to notice that your donations are being siphoned off.

Could you show an example of how you would specify the amount? You learn something every day (on bitcointalk I do anyways).

This is all specified in BIP 21: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0021.mediawiki

For an example of an amount:

Code:
bitcoin:1E6MkNW9smz9GKi4AXbegND4ctujCZnSjA?label=shorenafullnode?amount=10.5

I think there are better option to receive donation online with cryptocurrencies rather than text link.

You can simply put wallet address by addressing your users to donate or also you can put QR code image it will also good for donator who wish to donate simply by scanning qr code and send payment. It will also mobile friendly.
