Hello. I received today an Email from PayPal security service. They write they provide an Update for better privacy protection. How can I know that it is a true Email and not a fake phishing Email? Do you use any tools which can detect a phishing Email?
Thanks.

What does it mean Update? PayPal official Website Update? You have nothing to do with this. You have to login in your account and look if there are any notifications from PayPal. Delete every PayPal notification! If you buy something-you will receive a provement. If you did not-nothing.

Delete this E-mail. I am sure it is a phishing or a virus.

Go to Paypal.com by typing it in and then login and see for any updates.
You should see if there is a matching announcement to confirm the email you got.

What ever you do.. don't click on email links.
Scammers have been spreading fake links to fake Paypal login pages for over a decade.
I know someone who got hit by one back around 2003 so they are not new.
And i bet they are pretty convincing these days too.

Practice good security habits and you should be fine.

Since you asked this i get the feeling you have bought or sold a crypto coin with Paypal.
I bet someone you dealt with before is trying to rip you off.. maybe anyway LOL

Try and avoid using PP with any crypto stuff.. if they catch you they will lock your account.
And you may lose your money permanently.
It happened to me and many others before..

The best way of verifiying if the mail is fake is to check the mail's headers.

In G-Mail you can check the sender using the little arrow as you can see here https://gyazo.com/06316ecfb1393b81e9b5341013ac01ae
Then you should get the message headers as you can see here https://support.google.com/mail/answer/22454?hl=en
Those can get copy & pasted here http://mxtoolbox.com/EmailHeaders.aspx

If the mail is fake, the result will mostly look similar to this https://gyazo.com/14bcf794bd61394e155eb2df299d17c7, containing links which are not associated with PayPal.
To compare, a valid mail from PayPal https://gyazo.com/3b0bde78a6fe709c99febb2d0180c4cd | https://gyazo.com/92135cddb5a3388b1db9208bced163a0.
Additionally Google will tell you if three tests (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) are passed, see https://gyazo.com/4861933bd86881a86a46a7e8d7828990.

And like Spoetnik already told, PayPal should show you a notification if you login at their site (Not use any link of a mail, go directly to PayPal or use Google).

Friendly Regards,
