I know, not my business. But I'm curious as to why people ask for 0.001 BTC loans (~$1) just to pay 0.0015 back (~$1.50). I mean, if they can pay back $1.50 they surely have $1, right? I'm not sure if I'm missing something here?

I asked for a dollar because I didn't have the money then.
With the dollar, I made an "investment", got a return that allowed me to repay the loaner and keep enough to repeat the process.
With others I'm not sure, most are just gambling with it.

Like Vod said, they do that to try to build trust, however now these days you see people just running off with microloans. Regardless, people should be more alert, pay attention to patterns of the borrower because some would borrow and pay back in a day or two instead towards or on their due date, just to "build" trust for their grand exit scheme, but depending on the amount and how much one can trust the user, you should be asking for collateral. There are legit cases where a user needs it, but thats hardly rare.

Self-Moderated Thread is that you can delete any post that you don't like here. Basically and most of the times though, if not always... Btw, you can ask any amount that you want as long as the Lender is covered with a good and Valid Collateral. Even if it's only 1$...

Here are pretty much the only reasons:
Trying to build up trust Trying to scrape what they can from their account (AKA selling) Gambling And sometimes, for a valid purpose, like covering for a transaction in which they are missing a small portion of thr payment.

In some part of the world where $1 is more than enough for 1 whole day meal (3x). thats maybe the reason, buy i only see some brandnew account asking small loans like from 0.001 they think they will be granted with the loan and they can run with it and will just repeat the process by creating new account and open a lending thread again

I'm not sure if I'm missing something here? here users making buy in small amount because here are two reasons . One is simply a need of btc in small amount . Secondly they are making only small lend only because if any problem comes against him ( like economical problem of btc for him/her ) then still he will be able to pay in any conditions , so to keep himself away from negative trust .
