why you bothered to pay him upfront? no matter half or whatever. there is always escrow services available to ensure us safety and protect us from scammer.
you should not give a chance to scammers by paying first.

The seller still a newbie and doesn't have any good history trade on his account. Why you trust him?

Just a bit curious about this, what do you mean by "disappeared"? Where and how did he made contact with you then?

Because I could afford to lose it if it was a scam and if not, I'd like to take advantage of the good price so I took a chance.

Tried to take advantage of a good price.

Disappeared meaning he left the forum soon after he pretended to ship the product. We made business via pm but he has not come back ever since.

OP, whilst getting scam is an unfortunate event, this is solely your own fault. You should know better than to deal with new users without escrow, especially when they request payment upfront.

I have tagged the account in question, but I highly doubt that we are going to hear from him again (at least not from the same account).

Of course I should have used escrow. I have pm'd 2 forum members for it without response and decided to go on with half payment up front. I'm not saying I was wise. On the contrary. But still I was scammed.

A newbie don't really care about a negative trust because his account already don't have value. he just done his work (scam) and now he'll create another account to prefer another scam attempt.

You gave a newbie $30 or so upfront? Ugh. Use escrow. If escrow's aren't available and you're in a rush use a campaign manager or someone online that you feel is trustworthy. Literally anyone is more trustworthy than a newbie.

Does he also have your address? That would scare the crap out of me.

You need to be patient and ask several escrows. There are some that don't prefer dealing with physical items.

I'm not sure why you're telling me this. Boosting your post count? Roll Eyes

Fortunately I use bought addresses and fake names. So all is good.
