Following a couple of comments on "U2" 's nearby thread on taint, I have not been able to get blockchain.info's taint analysis to work lately (blockchain.info busy ("maximum concurrent requests")).
Does anyone else offer a taint analysis tool? Such analysis of taint is of much interest to me, and probably others.
I also remember that blockchain.info also used to offer their own mixing service, based on COINJoin I believe, I believe I read that they discovered a security hole and no longer offer it. Pity!

Yes, I am looking as well for an alternative taint analysis tool other than blockchain.info... It has been months that blockchain.info has switched off this free service. As there is absolutely no information released why, my guess is that law enforcement agencies pressed blockchani.info into switching it off... so people can't do a taint analysis anymore.... I want to check the past of bitcoins I was sold. There is nothing wrong with that... just to be on the safe side... Any guesses

I was very happy with that service, it showed that both blockchain.info's mixing service AND bitmixer.io's both seemed to obscure sending & receiving wallets rather well. I heard a year or two ago that blockchain's mixing service was not secure (I believe that someone found a way to connect sending & receiving wallets or something), but that is not clear to me. YES! Anyone who knows of a good taint analysis tool please let us know.

You might find https://www.walletexplorer.com/ helpful. I do not know of any other free taint analysis tools. The companies that do chainanalysis KYC/AML for exchanges do not give their software away for free.

I've never used Mt. Gox!

I searched some time ago for another one for my curiosity since Blockchain.info sends their to the bin but I only found this on Github https://github.com/mikispag/bitiodine/blob/master/deploy/blockparser/cb/taint.cpp and it works quite differently. I have been surprised to not find a few online tools. Even if I understand that the companies are not going to give it for free @OROBTC There is this PDF a good piece to read: Survey of Bitcoin Mixing Services: Tracing Anonymous Bitcoins http://www.novetta.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/NovettaBiometrics_BitcoinCryptocurrency_WP-W_9182015.pdfKEY POINTS • Taint Analysis is not capable of drawing correlations between originating and receiving addresses when coins are mixed. • The Bitcoin mixing services evaluated successfully remove personal and financial identity data from Bitcoins, but introduce additional behavioral data points. • Individual mixing services can be fingerprinted based on discoverable patterns in their mixing techniques.

Asking for somebody else who asked me - any tools currently available?
Myself, I used to do it the long way - by hand. I know that 3-LAs do have tools at their disposal that can do some very amazing things in performing said tasks, some aspects you'll be shocked to learn about if not versed.

I would like to make some chain analysis tools available for free online in the coming months. In my opinion people should have the right to access these tools without either the technical know-how or a bill to some firm.

Please do, that would be great. I would be happy to help if it's free software, or at least beta test. Interesting that all these services have gone down over time. I heard a lot of actresses are paid good money for taint analysis, but I think that's something else.

I'm tempted to make the same thing but name it something else, but then nobody would know what I'm talking about! Everyone already knows what taint analysis is. Oh well.

In principal, I would not be against a low fee to check for taint. You might consider writing up your Tool, allowing either beta-testers or a freebie to see how well it works. A free tool will be used more. And get lots of acclaim in the BTC/programming community. Or perhaps you could allow 10 uses for some low fee...
