I was expecting to see many of the alt currencies appreciate in value against the bitcoin today and hold their value against the USD, but instead they all got crushed along with the btc.

Granted they may all come back along with btc, but is anyone else surprised?  Does this show just how few people are interested in the alt currencies?

Also, aren't you US citizens trying to avoid bouncing back and forth btw btc and fiat?  Isn't your government going to try and tax the shit out of you as always?

Just a thought.

Peace

I think the issue is that automated bots kept the prices within a specific level. BTC-E held 50:1 all day long, which has never happened before. I think it speaks more to external actors than it does a decision that LTC needs to be pegged against BTC by investors.
