I think people are getting used to intermittent availability from gox.
What's more is gox is doing everything they can to fix the problem.
It only increases my confidence.
The price is stable, the infrastructure is getting better, and interest is at an all time high.
I'm turning bull!

Maybe I will stop calling them Mt.Cox under my breath every 20 minutes.
This is a good thing.

things are not okay right now. take some deep breaths and accept that. sell some more coins. take a break from the bitcoinworld. you're settling into delusional denial and you're going to end up making bad decisions.

Gox go up, Gox go down. I'm no longer afraid.
Does this look to anyone besides me as it should be the name of a children's book?

I bet you right now they're profiling the performance of their code and infrastructure.
0% fees cause they want the high volume
That's probably why it goes down occasionally.. They're tweaking the code.
When the fees are back, it'll be robust as anything.
It's a brilliant strategy to fix things for the long haul.

That's definitely an idea! It's an idea that'd make me leave, but maybe other people will like it?

If there is something that will make Bitcoin succeed, it is growth of utility - greater quantity and variety of goods and services offered for BTC. If there is something that will make Bitcoin fail, it is the prevalence of users convinced that BTC is a magic box that will turn them into millionaires, and of the con-artists who have followed them here to devour them.

'They' have a saying. One half of it reads: "Buy the fear" Worth a punt I reckon though I'd love for some boring consolidation over the weekend.

Oh, wait. Did you just mean through the website? In that case, a captcha would be fine, although I'm not sure what point it would serve. I thought Ashley meant that even API trades would have to fill a captcha out.

Go die in a hole. Swing trading would be dead and gone if this happened. It's hard enough to keep up with the market as it is, and you want to delay it further? No thanks.

As long as MtGox is open long enough every two weeks for me to convert my paycheck out of FRNs then I am fine.
Also...there are an awful lot of people complaining about a service that they are not forced to use.
The McDonalds in my town closed for 2 days a few months ago for remodeling and I do not recall the people going nuts over it (except one rather large woman on the corner with a sign).
There are about 20 other exchanges out there. Vote with your money.

A bit of a violent reaction to something that was completely sarcastic. Just for the record, folks, that was SARCASM; I do not think an exchange presenting a captcha at every order confirmation would be a good idea or would solve any problems. I was joking. Ha, ha.

Agreed completely! It would cut down the lag and trade bots. Without API trading liquidity would be shit and businesses like bitinstant, coinbase, bitpay, and others like them would either not exist or have 2-3X the fees.
