I wouldn't really buy that cards for 100 euro. For about 150 euro you can buy RX 470 or some newer card. It's not really a problem if you mix cards in rig because older cards should still work on new drivers.

290x is more like 250-300sol if you underclock it for better efficiency

do you pay for power though? as i understand, europe has expensive electricity that would discourage using an older-gen card

as for mixing cards, you should be fine. it can slightly complicate things, but is managable. you just need to install multiple drivers (one per correct generation: 3xx is different from 2xx is different from 7xxx)

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

Its like 0.06euro per kwh ... ive read somewhere in the new claymore miner it does up to 350sols... how about the 7970 , i cannot find for it , i think 100e is pretty good deal for both of them ?

Ahh i thought it was 100 euro per card. Well 100 euro for both cards is really a good deal. Your electricity price is not too high and that is the only reason I would recommend you buying these two cards because they are not power efficient compared to today's cards.

You can mix cards no problem.

Only issue will be if you are mixing older cards with newer ones and are trying to use older drivers.

You will need to use the driver which will work for the newest card.

100 EUR for both cards is insane.

They have probably already been mined to shit so you would be lucky to get 6 months out of them.

If I was you I would buy them, list them back on eBay or wherever straight away separately for a higher price and mine with them until the time they sell and at this point buy a more efficient card with the earnings.

Both cards for 100€ is definitely a good deal. With your electricity price I would buy them both.

honestly, youll get more like  220-250Sols per r9-290x (imo this card is worth almost 100euro), and 180-220 for the 7970 (imo card is worth 40-60euro). probably 450-500Sols total

Windows allows mixing GPUs of all sorts, but Linux has issues with mixing new and old cards.

i believe amd-gpu-pro open source driver set now allows mixing of various generations of amd gpu.

its an interface under development though and tbh i prefer the tried and tested aticonfig catalyst drivers.

when it comes to nvidia and amd you still have to segregate no matter the platform (unless you're a wizard with netbsd)
