Would ripple exchanges solve some of the problems with MtGox?

Now that I understand more about Ripple the more possibilities I see.

Payment gateways are the key to getting money in and out of Ripple.

I did not understand that before.

Wish they had more gateways. I assume that will change soon.

Also looking into this. Seems very interesting and with free funds for all of us who signed up before some date in Feb 2013 there's nothing to lose.

I don't understand it completely, but from what I've heard Ripple can solve some of bitcoins problems (Ripple network provides instant confirmations, etc.)
