Back in its development stages Augur seemed to have quite a roar behind it. However, now that the REP has been out for a while, I still haven't heard anything about the prediction market at all. REP does seem to have decent trading volume on Poloniex, but after searching around on here, little to no information was found. Did this run out of steam or is it still in dev stages?

The volume traded is good! It may lack information, but even in kraken the volume presented is interesting and I'm even thinking about getting some REP! The project is in the beginning, have patience! Great works develop in silence, multiple currencies have people doing FUD or trying to sell their coin bags! This is not how you should judge a coin!  Smiley

No i don't think it is dead at least for right now because if i saw on http://coinmarketcap.com/ it is still survive
and i think it will not be die as long as there are innovations from developers of coin.
Will be hard for altcoins that has new innovations and many investors who put the money into it.

IMO, Augur was just ANOTHER stephan Taul ETH hype scam.  i mean, have you SEEN the beta they have had for like 6+ months now? Once i used it i realized: holy crap, this SOUNDS great in idea, but in practise this is/was a ridiculous idea. The prediction markets there are nothing short of retarded stuff that noone cares about, it does NOT have the kinda prediction stuff we were TOLD it would, it has "what will be the weather on this date" type shit. garbage.
Volume will be around, sure, coins can have no work for 3 years and have volume still, its a free market, but rest assure, imo, Augur is dead, and it has been for months.
(p.s, but Taul still made money!, and since then has dumped 3 more hype projects already in the time its taken people to realize the FIRST are vaporwear (slock.it anyone?)

How would you jump to conclusion it is dead, Augur is not dead but the issue is that the development on the platform has been slower than most people thought, it is a well conceive idea and I won't write it off quickly like that because prediction market has huge potential.

i think augur is still exist in many exchanges especially in poloniex, i see that the volumes is good for trading and with the down price of bitcoin, i think augur will be rise soon like other altcoins. maybe you can compare with other market exchanges so you can see each of the volumes in each of market exchanges.
