If my opinion will be credited I will vote for the inclusion of blockchain technology as a great innovation. It will not only serve the financial sector but to government transactions and other sectors as well. But even without my vote soon blockchain technology will be included in that list. But this technology deserves the best since it is the best.

True,blockchain technology is considered as a great innovation and invention since we are on fast pace evolving technology era then this thing does really give a big change regarding on transactions and this is the best thing for me and most people who are using it.This is why bitcoin considered a a great innovation because of this technology.

We cannot put it on that list by ourselves, only those managing these lists can decide whether Bitcoin should be there or not. What makes it a great innovation is that it is known it was only one person that created it, and the features it has and the way it works.. makes it seem impossible to be created by a man. Nobody knows if it was a person or a group, a man, men, a woman, women or even a mixed group. Who created it is/are genius for sure.

Yes. You can consider blockchain as the greatest innovation on technology. Not just technology but also innovation on currency.

Blockchain is the backbone of Digital Currency Bitcoin. So this is the New invention which will change the financial nature of the world. There will be complete different world with no physical cash and only digital cash.

I think the history will remember that the blockchain is the trust in the network without the need of a middleman or third party involved. The blockchain will be applied in many industries like banking, healthcare, insurance and many other that I am not aware of.

I won't count blockchain among the greatest innivation, so far there is no large scale use of the tech. we are just hoping it will hit the real world use. Blockchain cannot be considered to have affected the world the way Electricity, Aircraft, Internet, Computer etc. have changed the world positively may be in future it will but not presently

I think that the blockchain technology can definitely have a lot of impact on the financial sector and add an additional layer of security to some of the trading systems we have now, but beyond that it just looks like a more expensive form of the same systems we have today.

While vastly applicable for commodity trading, it lacks a lot of the efficiency conventional systems today provide.

blockchains have been around alot longer then people think. but how satoshi utilised it made it innovative.

kind of like wheels have been around thousands of years. but how the first combustion engine maker utilised it made vehicles revolutionary(as the wheels and round turning cogs/gears concept inside engine)

so although (when you peal off all the add-on features satoshi patched together PoW, hashing, transaction cryptography, etc..) the blockchain concept is very simple and not revolutionary (data linked to other data(blocks of data chained to other blocks)).. blockchain does open up a new direction of possibilities.

Yes, I think Andreas coined the phrase "The Internet of Money" for this technology. I do not know of any Fintech innovation in the last

couple of years that made such a impact on the financial world, like Bitcoin or the Blockchain did. Bitcoin was the spark that ignited the

innovation for other technologies. Bitcoin is also the technology behind 1000's of Alt coins that are being developed now.

That's true, we should wait until it proves itself. The Internet wasn't on the list in the 70s and 80s, when it was still used only by scientist and large corporations, and how many people use blockchain? Not even 1% of the population. To compare think how many people are using a fork or a spoon or a microwave? Also, like others have said, blockchain is only a tool for Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the one that deserves a place on that list.
