I am a newbie in trading and I'm wondering what Altcoin is promising this 2017?
I am sure best performing Crypto is already well known right now. Most likely will be one that reached bottom right now. And those that monitor that coin know well it will preform good in 2017. How refreshing it is to see most ppl in here give the only honest advice one can give; do your own research.
Read the ANN thread of the coin. All of it! Many coins also have a slack. Join. Also see what they say about the coin in this section or the ANN of competing coins.
Here's a few rules of thumb that can save you a lot of Money.
Never be in a rush to invest. There is plenty of opportunities
Dont go with the hype. By the time it reaches you it's to late to get a good entry if you are new. And often the hype is just that. Hype.
Dont invest in ICO's. You need experience to find the good ones
Stay away from short term trading until you know what you do. You can easily lose 50% of your money in just one day
Stay away from coins with anon dev unless it's an old coin and the dev has a proven track record
Dont bother with coins that are not listed on Poloniex or Bittrex. If they are not listed there then there is mostly a reason for it
Go for coins that have really unique features. Not just minor adjustments to the coin they where cloned from.
Never panic sell unless there are fundamental reasons like dev quiting or other things that seriously damage the project.
You can make a nice profit once in a while by breaking these rules, but you will lose 10x as often until you know what you are doing

in all the cryptocurrencies out there only bitcoin is and will always be promising. and all the rest are at least 10 times riskier to invest. but if i had to choose any of the altcoins i would only go with coins that have been around and have been adopted so far such as Litecoin and Monero and Dash. and leave the rest for mostly short term pre pump buy and dumping during the pump.

Although I generally ignore altcoins, even I am surprised to see that I only recognised three coins in the top 20 of this list! It's slightly discouraging to see that most people understand "promising" as profitable. The sole deciding factor here is price, nothing else to distinguish these alts. |

I dont know how those new coins in my eyes able to surpass ETH so easily and seing Monero is on the top then its not really surprising for me anymore since this coin do really have the potential too but i dont know on those coins who are placed 2-10th place. |

Beside the existing coins,new coins are coming up ,it's better to set up your own guidelines and standards about coins that you want to invest,many people here will just promote coins that they have stakes,you need to trust your own judgement . |

Thanks, I appreciate your advice =) I think you also have to divide your investment for the decrease of your risk. I mean don't put all your eggs in one basket. Maybe your income also can diminish but that's the one important rule of this game. With this strategy, you can save your money |

I feel that Waves will be promising in 2017. However, you need to do your own research like others have said.
To be honest, waves is very potential because the current price is much lower than ICO price. I recommend ETH, WAVES, STRATIS are big players in 2017. what is good about Stratis? I think the most objectionable is mercatox although the price is still below the price but the total volume of purchases ico SDH pretty much apalgi now ddemi little bit have started to rise, it was the same again in search of a big investor |

That's right dude, you really have a point with that matter, we have our own horse and of course every altcoin that we bet is the best for us. So I think there's no point in the question about which best or promising altcoins. For what important is we enjoy what we do to our own horse which is best altcoins for us. |

Everybody here have own horse for best altcoin!
Listen to this suggestion and I would say the same thing too on make your own research because if you listen on people here they would just mention or advertise their own coin for which you might invest and put your money on the wrong coin.Better to research your own and see always which is always on the top on coin marketcap. i right with u, but u can delimited here circle of research by give him some information about top coin, how to know is a coin is good or scam......., and it's not bad to give him some altcoins which u think is good |

I recommend Iconomi, Spectrecoin, Factom, DigixDAO, Counterparty, Zcoin, Monero and Komodo
But that is just my opinion. As everyone is telling you. Do your own research and decide by yourself. Dont let other influence you because they are most probably advertising the coins they have for a greater pump
is that possible for this year someone will create new altcoin? |

I can suggest for u mate ADZcoin, and i hope if someone expert then me can explain for u how to choose a good coin to invest in it And what is special about this coin? I am not so fond about coins tailored to fill into specific niche in the first place. I wanted to read some more opinions about is and found a original ANN thread, but it is now locked because creator of ADZcoin doesn't like free speech and they switched to new self-moderated thread. |

You are right i prefer only bitcoin when compared to altcoin because bitcoin gives more profit in long run. But in my views there are some coin which will give profit is ETH, Monero, Dash,LTC. Because these will have strong growth from many years so this will take some time to give profits. |

I dont see any potential or promising altcoin. I still prefer top altcoins in the market because they are tested by years. Ethereum, dash, xmr and litecoin still my prefered altcoin. I dont really buy new altcoins because i want a long trade. I dont want hyped coins and dump it quickly. I see many coins like this. They never survive. Devs abandoned the project. And later it turn into a scam.
