I think so.
Of course, it's very difficult to predict such things.
We are not talking about regulated financial market but virtual currency, without any financial regulation or government control.
Because of this, we can't use past experience or some research in order to predict future events.
If Bitcoin become mainstream in next years, it's sure that many more people will become interesting in bitcoin, and demand (for buying bitcoin) will be high.
Such trend will help increase price of bitcoin, even much more than $2000.

But the main thing that we shouldn't forget, is that this market is, and will always remain subject to manipulation. In that regard, it might take plenty of more years than people were initially thinking the price would need to reach $2000. Or we might happen to see it within 2 years. Everything is possible here. if i was a betting man i would bet on the price to go to $2000 and more in a year or so.

so far we have seen price rise from 0.01 to 1 dollar and that is one 100x rise and then from $1 to $10 which is another 10x rise and then there was the rise from $1 to $20 and then $200 and finally in 2013 we were proven that price can go to $1000+ and that is 10000x rise overall.

When I first get involved in bitcoin it was just 250$. At first I do not believe when I read people saying that it will reach 1000$ and more. Never doesn't exist when it comes to Bitcoin. And to me it seems you are living in a fantasy world. No way we can end this year with experiencing $2000 prices. We can't even manage to maintain the $1000 level yet. And I am fairly sure that when we go over $1000 another time this year, that once again it won't be sustained for too long. It seems so, I'm not sure the price of $2.000 will be achieved in the year 2017. The thing that makes me hesitate is when the price reached $1.100 then go down to $750, so that when there was a slight increase in the bitcoin holders will take profit.

My point of view is that your question is realistic and we can go more high of this price but like as you said; that is, "some day" which we don't really know because the international juncture would send the price to skyrocket in a short period of time. Not sure what analysis you have done, but absolutely nothing justifies the price to reach +$2000 next year. In order to come even close to that level, we must somehow find a midway solution to implement SegWit. But we all know that it's not looking very promising. I think it's safe to say that our main concern should be settling above the $1000 level, because as it is, it has proven to be a more than difficult challenge. Best time to accumulate were a few months back. Right now is a good time for people to just keep holding their coins.

Like I said in the other thread, the 2000 mark is still far far way. And people need to think about the mainstream, the massive adoption wont be possible with the current protocol. Why people are going to use bitcoin as a payment method if the transactions can delay days? Yes, we can't just compare last year price and this year, then stated it will be the same. But, at least we know that bitcoin could leap more than 100% in a year. Bitcoin can't be predicted accurately, but we know the advantages and usability of it which attracts so many users. I believe bitcoin could reach $2000 by the end of the year or next year.

But as you may know, there is barely any real indication beside the growing transaction volumes to know whether or not people really get attracted to Bitcoin. That's why we can only assume that more and more people are finding their way to Bitcoin due to the increased transaction volume, and eventually also a higher price. Another major aspect that may help to significantly push the price forwards, is when we finally upgrade to larger blocks. I think it's safe to say that basically everyone in the Bitcoin world is waiting for that moment to happen.

There is no doubt that every years price of bitcoin increase significantly, during fisrt 2016 the price around 400 - 500 dollars ( with various fluctuations ) and know bitcoin price is 1000 dollars. I am sure that next years the price is growing up agagain rather than now
