of course you failed because you only have 0.0001 btc in your wallet so you can not buy ethereum, but if you only want to buy eth with your 0.0001 btc then you can do it right way. please make sure that you have balance in your wallet before you want to buy.

of course you failed because you only have 0.0001 btc in your wallet so you can not buy ethereum, but if you only want to buy eth with your 0.0001 btc then you can do it right way. please make sure that you have balance in your wallet before you want to buy.

The amount you are using is not up to poloniex  purchasing balance and that is the reason you could not buy the Eth. Increase your deposit said 0.01bt and it will be easy for you to trade with.I make deposit to poloniex of 0.001btc before, I have to withdraw because of the same issue. You can used yobit since they trading amount is minimal, with yobit you can even transact with 0.00001btc.

you deposit an amount (a very small amount may not be credited to your balance since many exchanges have some rules about these things, check this out first) then after you saw that in your balance tab you go to the ETH market and fill in the boxes related to buy order.
set the price and total amount to buy (you can click on your balance to automatically have that filled) if 0.0001 is the minimum on polo then you can place an order.

Well, honestly I never try to buy ETH, and concerning about your question. You cannot buy eth with the amount of 0.0003 satoshi because you didn't or you don't have enough fund to avail it. Why? due to the price of ETH is something 0.01BTC.

With the current rate of ETH to BTC you can only buy 0.015 ETH. It's easy to buy ETH in Poloniex if you have ready BTC balance there, unless when you tried to buy ETH your BTC balance is not yet confirmed since you mentioned you just transferred 0.0001 BTC. I still have 0.0007BTC balance in Poloniex and I tried to buy ETH with no problem. You to further elaborate which part of buying process you were not able to get the ETH that you need.

To be honest, you do not need to create a thread just for like this, you can simply search that with your friend google and you can find the answers what you are looking for, I thought upon reading the thread title, though the it does not says about the timing of buying but it's what as my impression.

Agree, this thing should be self answered,  you have internet provider you can do research and you can read and understand well, I am sure google can help you with this well. Rather, you can just PM someone whom you think they can help you with not just opening a thread just to ask how to buy on poloniex.

You cant buy 1 ETH with that money that is so small amount. Whent it comes to trading you should need a large money but in your case your problem is you cannot buy in poloniex so I think the problem is your money is not equal in the coin that you want to buy. Make sure that it is equal. And I will suggest that you can deposit more money

i also never trade ETH. to me i mostly invest my money in bitcoin and most of the time go for long term investment, but some time i do trade in some cheap alt coin. but i personally never trade ETH.

I agree that it was a newbie question, I found the answer the hard way. You can't buy a partial cryptocurrency on the platform instead you need to have the funding to buy one at the market price.

You can start trading in poloniex with a small amount. But there is a minimum amount per transaction in exchanges. In poloniex, the minimum amount per transaction is 100K sats. Actually it is not that much. Even newbies can afford that amount and start trading. It is actually friendly for newbies who want to test trading if it will work for them.

Why don't you try to buy in another exchange, like yobit.net though many of the member here have negative feed back on this trading platform. But you can buy there at the price you want and the charge is very fair enough for evry transaction of the traders.

If you want to trade BTC to ETH, you need to know the price of ETH.Because if you don't know what is the price of that there would an error so you need to learn more about trading. Maybe that is the reason why you can't trade BTC to ETH because your current bitcoin is not enough of 1 ETH and you need to pay also the transaction fee. Maybe this advice could help your problem.
