Is Mt.Gox down? I can't seem to get on to sell buy more bitcoins. The price is dropping right now so I wanted to grab some more.
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Yea, it's down for me too right now. They've been having a rough time recently because of all of the BTC publicity.

They make so much profit. Why can't they get google-grade servers? Those are invincible!

They were up about an hour ago. If they do more than 70% of all bitcoin transactions wouldn't this greatly effect the market by being down for any amount of time? I bet when they're back up the price for bitcoins is going to drop a lot.

Now the real question is:

Is there anywhere to short bit coins?
