THIS POST IS TO GAUGE INTEREST IN A SOLAR MINING SYSTEM

I was forced to stop mining a few years ago do to it not being profitable anymore because I pay .26kwh. I enjoyed it and wanted to start for FUN again. I SAY FUN BECAUSE IT IS STILL NOT PROFITABLE ONCE YOU FACTOR IN THE PRICE OF EQUIPMENT. It basically saves you the cost of electricity that you would have used. So for me running 100w @.26kwh would cost me about $226 year. I have been working and testing a solar mining system. It is expandable depending on what size panels and batteries you want to buy or have laying around. Starts up and mines automatically once it has power and can be set to your desired pools and adjusted using a built in (Flashed)  R1 as a controller.

BEFORE I SPEND THE MONEY ON HAVING A CASE DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED I THOUGHT I WOULD SEE IF ANYONE WOULD BE INTERESTED.
1. I'm still testing and improving the functionality
2. Price would be somewhere around $250 and would include
- custom case
- solar charge controller
- R1
- inverter
- digital multimeter display
- undisclosed electrical components that improve efficiency
3. IT WOULD NOT INCLUDE
- solar panel
- batteries
3. I would likely have mining equipment from Sidehack and solar panels for sale as well.

What benefit does the controller have over a traditional grid-tied solar setup?  When you say "undisclosed electrical components that improve efficiency", you're going to raise some eyebrows TBH.  How much impact does this controller actually have on system efficiency compared to a standard MPPT controller?

 edit: sorry misread your comment, the solar controller that I'm currently using is just a standard solar controller to control the proper volts from panel to battery

The benefit would be that it is a plug and play system. Plug in you solar panels and batteries to the marked connections, and any USB miners plug right in. The parts along wholesale are about $120 not including case and labor.

This is geared towards USB miners, I understand now.  I thought you were gearing this towards larger mining operations.

Sorry I missed the part that you stepped away from mining, and thus disappeared from the forum for over a year, and came back immediately trying to start a GB and a solar project.  You wouldn't have a problem signing a message from one of your old addresses then I imagine? Consider it due diligence to hush up any nay-sayers.

I'd be a little bit interested as I have a few USB miners that I'd like to get on solar power, but the bad thing is my new house faces opposite the sun so I don't get much solar power at all. Still, sign me up on the list- usb miners are the best!

Yeah the current Setup would probably support up to 1000w. But I see most people running 35-100w.  If we get that far I don't have a problem with that, or I don't mind escrow as well

To make $1K a month your investment in mining hardware is going to have to be at least $30K to try to make the much.  by the time you purchase that you will have to add more processing power as it gets harder to in the future.


My system installed was over $55K.  I am leasing it.

One mining rig (6xGPU not overclocked/dual mining) which cost less than $2000 can mine today around $850 a month without electricity fee.

What are you mining to get that return? I am getting about $960/mo with my 8xGPU rigs.  My math on 6x would be closer to 720.  So you are doing something smarter than I am.

8*1080ti would get around 2k a month on nicehash

I would be interested in a solar system. Looking to move into USB miners myself as well as other coins. Keep me posted please.
