An update from Canaan regarding hooking A721 with A741.

Hi, yes you can connect A721 and A741 to the same Controller. The firmware can support A7xx in the same chain
Although the voltage setting is different. So it is up to you if you want to run your setup with the devices separate or not. Actually, let us know if you try this and what the results of the setup are for you ok?

As for the cooling numbers, we are working on that but its nearly Chinese New year so there will more than likely be delay on this.

Thanks

Jon

Will post pictures of the A721 with and without the air forming cooler after breakfast as well as screen shots.

So my translation would be:

get a second controller for best results.

If anyone does have the ability to run them both  on 1 controller and 1 chain for a few hours.

Then on two controllers to show the difference in hash rates it would make it easy for people like myself to decide to get a second controller for the newer gear. While I would love to do this I have too much of my funds tied up to buy and test properly.

Nice, so same temps with 5k RPM than the others with 8K RPM right ?

How is this suitable for home mining, is the difference with 721 that important or seems the same ?

Cheers,
Q.

It seems like it.

The fan is totally covered by a casing and it is positioned far away from the case of the miner.

Like there is a little gap between the miner and the fan.

I decided to take it off for more exploring and will post pictures once done.

The A721 is quieter than the S7.

The current A721 with air forming cooler is a little bit quieter than the older fan due to the lower fan speed.

I do not know if it suitable as a home miner or not but I have a dedicated place for the miners.

All I know that the R4 is the only home miner but with lots of issues.
