And you think they can do anything about it? Sorry, but this made me laugh.

I donno, there should be a transaction trail. the police might actually be able to track them down.

I just realized that he also said he's calling the cops, but physically going to the station.

I think I'll stop feeding the troll now.

The cops...  I lost my stash, I think my neighbor snookered me.  "Alright, Sir, what did your stash consist of?" "Non-taxable loot."  "Hmmmm.  Perhaps you should come with me."

"And where is this Mount Gox located at Ms. Gabrielle? We don't have a Mount Gox in this state."

Second question: "What the fuck is bitcoin?"

Then finally, "all right we will file a report on your case and get back to you if anything turns up..."

Stupid mistake, my brain went on a vacation. Dollars could be tracked out of the Mt. Gox account, but bitcoins.... yeah, not so much.

Yes, more than likely its not going to work.  Unless a super hacker comes in and starts following this other hackers trail.  Even  then though it'd be more like pattern watching as their probably isn't anything useful on your pc, but a pattern in his attacks.

I don't think the police could help you at all. I suggest you to contact Mtgox but most likely your coins are long gone.

How did they get into your account? Was your password strong?

Also the police won't do anything, never mind if they can or not, they're not going to bother.

Yesterday a guy supposedly got his wallet ripped off to the tune of 25,000 bitcoins, and now today there are reports of mt.gox hackings.... it's only one of two things - trolls, or this is the start of a negative trend...

Negative?

Not likely. That means they're worth stealing!

While I hope this is a troll post - in the event it is not and you are emotional and not prioritizing making complete sense online (which is why people think you are a troll). I doubt you will get your $ back, I doubt the police will care, having said that, getting jacked sucks and I'm sorry to hear/read that.
